Fraser has lowered the asking price for 47.5m Admiral ALTHEA to €23.9m, following an earlier 2026 reduction and major 2024–25 refit work.

Fraser publishes another adjustment for ALTHEA

Fraser has announced a new asking price of €23.9 million for the 47.5-metre Admiral motor yacht ALTHEA in a brokerage update dated 29 October 2026. The change follows an earlier reduction reported during the summer, when her asking price was €26.9 million. That makes the latest published figure €3 million lower than the prior quoted level, although an asking price should never be confused with a completed sale or an independently assessed valuation.

The revised figure is significant for buyers comparing recent Italian-built yachts in the 45-to-50-metre bracket. ALTHEA was delivered in 2021 and remains a relatively young example, yet the existence of a new reduction shows that sellers still have to respond to market conditions. Fraser describes her as fully VAT paid and ready for use after major work in 2024 and 2025, claims which any purchaser should substantiate through documents and survey.

An aluminium Admiral with substantial internal volume

ALTHEA is an Admiral Atos 47-series motor yacht, built in aluminium to RINA classification. The yard and brokerage give her length as 47.50 metres, despite round-number references to 48 metres in some marketing material. At 499GT, she combines substantial accommodation with a gross-tonnage figure immediately beneath the 500GT threshold. Gross tonnage expresses enclosed volume rather than the yacht's actual weight and should not be read as displacement.

The 499GT figure matters because tonnage can affect parts of a yacht's certification, crewing, survey and operating regime, although applicable rules also depend on flag and commercial status. Buyers should resist the simplistic claim that remaining below a threshold eliminates meaningful regulation. Classification condition, equipment inventories, safety management and the intended areas of operation still influence the running costs and suitability of a large privately owned vessel.

Recent refit work is a selling point, not a substitute for survey

Fraser says the yacht underwent major technical and aesthetic refit work at Monaco Marine in 2024 and 2025, including significant machinery updates. The brokerage also reports Caterpillar warranty cover and RINA classification valid until 2030. These are useful starting points for due diligence, but the scope, conditions, exclusions and remaining duration of any warranty must be confirmed directly with the relevant parties before an offer is made.

A buyer should ask for a clearly itemised refit account, including invoices, equipment serial numbers, warranty assignments and the history of any class recommendations. A vessel can look exceptionally fresh in a sales photograph while still carrying machinery or control-system issues that emerge only during extended operation. Independent sea trials, generator-load checks, hull examinations and careful review of electronic maintenance records provide a stronger basis for judging readiness.

Accommodation and crew separation

ALTHEA is marketed for up to eleven guests in five staterooms, including a full-beam owner's accommodation on the main deck and four ensuite cabins below. The layout also provides separate working and living quarters for professional crew, preserving privacy between service areas and guest rooms. That division becomes particularly important when longer passages and multiple meals each day require a coordinated team behind the scenes.

Large windows connect the main saloon to the water, and the aft deck provides an outdoor extension of the principal social space. Owners should nevertheless examine the arrangement in person rather than judge practicality from a photograph. Routes used by crew, luggage handling, access to service cupboards, sound insulation and whether a cabin arrangement suits the intended guests often determine comfort more reliably than a brochure's total number of berths.

The waterfront experience and tender operations

The yacht's exterior spaces include a broad aft platform, a beach-club area and access to the sea from the swim platform. A dedicated tender garage removes much of the visual clutter that otherwise accumulates around a yacht's working decks. These amenities can make a noticeable difference during Mediterranean cruising, when guests are frequently moving between the water, a tender and the yacht's sheltered social areas.

Tender operations carry practical responsibilities often missed in lifestyle descriptions. Lifting arrangements, fuel handling, crew training and safe launch conditions all affect whether the equipment can be used at a particular anchorage. Purchasers should identify exactly which tenders, personal watercraft and watersports accessories are included in the sale. A photographed inventory is not necessarily the property transferred under the eventual purchase contract.

Reading the new price against the broader market

A €3 million change from the previously reported asking price is not a measure of depreciation in the formal accounting sense. It may reflect the seller's preferred sale timetable, competing listings, currency considerations or negotiations that have not resulted in a disclosed transaction. The market for individual superyachts is thin enough that a small number of sales can distort average prices, especially once build year, specification and tax status are taken into account.

A sensible comparison therefore uses recent concluded sales where reliable evidence exists, together with the actual condition and equipment of each candidate. Advertising another yacht at a similar figure is useful context, but it does not establish the amount a buyer paid. ALTHEA's recent refit investment also complicates simple price-per-metre comparisons because a well-documented technical programme can be considerably more valuable than cosmetic upgrades alone.

What prospective purchasers should verify

ALTHEA's reported EU VAT-paid position is attractive to some European buyers, but the specific documentary basis and any effect of the proposed transaction must be checked with a qualified adviser. Title, liens, encumbrances, flag status, commercial certification and any ongoing charter commitments require separate verification. A sales advertisement gives a starting description of an asset; it does not replace professional legal or technical investigation.

Owners planning to keep the yacht in the Mediterranean should also calculate annual mooring commitments, crewing expenses, insurance, periodic survey and likely refit reserve. The present €23.9 million figure is a capital acquisition price before individual transaction costs. An apparently favourable reduction may be outweighed by operating commitments if the yacht's layout, cruising range or machinery package is poorly matched to the purchaser's real use.

A fresh offering within the modern 50-metre segment

The October announcement gives the market a new reference point for a 2021 Admiral with relatively recent technical work. Fraser's campaign places emphasis on the combination of 499GT internal volume, a yacht delivered only five years ago, separate guest and crew spaces and an extensive refit history. The listing remains an offer for sale, and no concluded buyer, transaction price or completion date has been announced in this update.

For a potential buyer, the appropriate next step is a detailed inspection and a comparison with genuinely available alternatives of similar vintage and capability. For the wider market, the revision is a reminder that headline asking prices are dynamic. Value lies in the intersection of vessel condition, service history, operating objectives and the price a properly informed buyer is actually prepared to pay.
