Alia Yachts has launched the 45-metre fully custom Genie Blu, a low-profile project developed with Luca Dini Design & Architecture around direct contact with the sea.

Alia Yachts has launched the 45-metre custom superyacht Genie Blu, developed by the yard's in-house design office with Luca Dini Design & Architecture. The project deliberately avoids maximising enclosed volume and instead concentrates on proportion, open sightlines and a strong relationship between the owner and the sea.

The exterior is built around a long, low profile

Genie Blu uses a restrained silhouette with drop-down side wings, extensive glazing and relatively uncluttered exterior surfaces. Alia says the yacht's character comes from proportion and openness rather than from adding more superstructure or internal volume simply because the length allows it.

That approach gives the yacht a different presence from high-volume 45-metre designs intended to maximise accommodation. It also places greater emphasis on deck engineering because folding elements and broad glass areas need to remain robust while preserving the clean visual treatment.

Floor-to-ceiling glass puts the sea at the centre

The main saloon uses floor-to-ceiling windows and an open-plan arrangement intended to maintain uninterrupted views. Luca Dini's interior follows a calm, neutral decorative language so the materials and furniture do not compete with the outside environment.

Large windows can transform the experience at anchor, but they also influence heat gain, privacy and technical integration. Successful execution therefore depends on the shipyard coordinating glazing, insulation, air-conditioning and interior detailing rather than treating windows as a purely aesthetic feature.

Outdoor circulation flows toward the swim platform

Raised cockpit seating is connected by a cascade of steps to the aft swim platform, creating a gradual transition toward water level. A forward lounge and open foredeck provide additional outdoor zones, while a discreet sunpad area is incorporated into the superstructure.

The layout gives guests several choices without dividing the yacht into too many formal compartments. On a custom yacht intended for private enjoyment, that flexibility can be more useful than maximising the number of separate lounges that appear impressive on a general arrangement.

The owner’s brief favoured subtraction over addition

Designer Luca Dini describes the project as an exercise in removing barriers, reducing unnecessary volume and opening the yacht wherever possible. That philosophy depends on restraint because every additional feature has to justify its effect on the overall experience rather than simply adding another selling point.

For Alia, Genie Blu demonstrates the yard's willingness to execute unconventional owner briefs rather than repeat a fixed series formula. The yacht's success will be measured by how naturally those simplified spaces work in daily use once the vessel begins its cruising programme.
