Damen Yachting's live fleet register continues to classify the 80m Amels 8005 as in build for 2027, distinct from a launch or owner handover.
Damen Yachting's current fleet register keeps Amels 8005 within its active construction portfolio. The 80-metre Limited Editions yacht carries a 2027 delivery year in the builder's listing. Damen announced its sale on 20 March 2026, so the current in-build status describes work on an already contracted yacht, not a new offer for sale.
The official register describes Amels 8005 as 80 metres, with a 2027 year and the status in build. It does not identify a new delivery ceremony, a sea-trial result or an owner handover dated 28 September 2026.
The distinction is essential for fleet reporting. A delivery window is not the same as delivery, and the word build should not be converted into a new keel-laying announcement without a separate statement.
The shipyard confirmed the fifth Amels 80 was sold shortly after arriving in Vlissingen in January, in cooperation with Burgess. That transaction was reported on 20 March and must not be described as a September sale. See the official Damen Yachting sale announcement.
The 80-metre Limited Editions platform gives Damen Yachting a series-based route to large customised yachts. Espen Øino's exterior language and the builder's repeatable engineering concept underpin the family, while individual hull arrangements and interior decisions remain project-specific.
Amels 8005 should therefore be followed as its own hull rather than represented by a photograph of another Amels 80. The accompanying image is the builder's identified 8005 project visual.
The next reportable milestones would include a shipyard-confirmed transfer between build sites, launch, trials or handover. None of those is established by the current fleet listing alone.
Superyacht Guide will keep the 2027 year attributed to Damen Yachting and revise the record only when a dated official announcement supports a change.
