Auckland Boat Show 2027 Expands Sea Trials After Strong 25th Edition

NZ Marine will stage the 2027 Auckland Boat Show from 1–4 April, building on strong sea-trial demand and a broad marine-industry exhibition programme.

The Auckland Boat Show will return to the Viaduct Events Centre, Jellicoe Harbour and Wynyard Wharf from 1–4 April 2027, opening the Australasian on-water show season. Organiser NZ Marine says sea-trial activity and wider participation will be developed further after the event's 25th-anniversary edition produced strong commercial results.

Four days on Auckland's waterfront

Official visitor information gives opening hours of 10am to 6pm from Thursday 1 April through Saturday 3 April, with a 5pm close on Sunday 4 April. The show again combines indoor and land-based displays with on-water exhibition areas in central Auckland.

NZ Marine positions the event as an industry-owned, not-for-profit show whose proceeds are reinvested into New Zealand's marine sector. That structure gives the event a different commercial model from privately owned exhibitions while still relying on exhibitor sales and buyer engagement.

The 2026 edition set a strong benchmark

The organiser reports that the 2026 anniversary show brought together more than 164 exhibitors and over 500 brands, including 35 first-time exhibitors. Visitors completed 1,220 sea trials and spent more than NZ$10 million during the event, according to the show's published review.

Those historic numbers describe the completed 2026 edition and are not a forecast for 2027. They do, however, explain why the organiser is giving additional attention to on-water demonstrations and buyer access when planning the next show.

Sea trials remain a defining feature

Auckland's format allows prospective buyers to compare vessels afloat and take selected boats on the water rather than relying only on static stands. NZ Marine says the show spans entry-level craft and marine equipment through to custom luxury yachts, placing specialist suppliers beside boatbuilders and designers.

For the superyacht sector, the relevance is broader than the number of very large yachts physically displayed. New Zealand's refit, design, equipment and manufacturing businesses use the show as a local platform before engaging with international owners, captains and yards.

The event follows the Ocean Race stopover

The 2027 show is scheduled shortly after the Ocean Race Auckland Stopover, creating a concentrated period of marine activity in the city. NZ Marine also lists its Seminar Series and Women in Marine programme among features due to return.

Exhibitor directories and final vessel lists will continue to develop before April, so Superyacht Guide is treating the current announcement as an industry-calendar update rather than a confirmed inventory of yachts. Named launches should be reported separately once organisers or manufacturers verify them.
