Bilgin Yachts has received the YachtBuyer Hall of Fame trophy for the 49.95-metre CAMILA after the review programme awarded her an overall five-star rating.
Bilgin Yachts has been formally presented with a YachtBuyer Hall of Fame trophy following an independent review of the 49.95-metre superyacht Camila. The presentation took place at the 2026 Monaco Yacht Show, where the Turkish shipyard's representatives received recognition for the Bilgin 163 II's overall YB 5 Star assessment. YachtBuyer published details of the honour on 9 October 2026.
The accolade is distinct from a newly announced yacht launch or a sale. Camila entered service in 2025 and appeared at Monaco during that year's show; the 2026 development is the formal recognition of the onboard review. The shipyard's delivery and early design announcements have already been reported, so the focus here is what the current assessment reveals about the finished yacht.
YachtBuyer's Hall of Fame is based on scores awarded after an onboard review rather than nominations submitted to a panel. The organisation says a yacht must achieve an overall five-star rating, with judges examining design and build quality, accommodation, outdoor decks, helm arrangements and engineering. This is a media review programme with its own criteria, not a regulatory certification or guarantee about every owner's experience.
Camila received five-star assessments for design and build, accommodation, deck spaces and the engine room, while her helm received four stars. The result was an overall five-star rating and a place in the Hall of Fame. The individual scores are useful because they make the strengths and the one slightly lower-scoring area more visible than a simple award headline.
One of the project's most important design decisions was to place tender storage further forward, releasing the aft end for a large beach club and gym. On a yacht close to 50 metres, that decision affects more than appearances. It changes how guests reach the water, where crew handle equipment and how the lower deck relates to the bathing platform.
The resulting beach club opens directly to the fixed bathing platform and provides another setting for relaxation away from the main saloon. The arrangement reflects an owner-led brief developed alongside Bilgin and its specialist designers. Tender dimensions and operational procedures still need to be matched to the individual yacht rather than assumed from the size of its waterside guest spaces.
The review identifies a sun deck measuring about 21 metres, with sunbathing space aft, an outdoor galley, dining facilities and a hot tub positioned forward. Rather than relying on one continuous seating arrangement, the deck offers several destinations so guests can choose sun, shade or privacy at different times of day. Exterior styling and naval architecture are by Unique Yacht Design.
The layout shows how a yacht operating below 500 gross tonnes can provide facilities that feel substantial in relation to its length. Gross tonnage measures enclosed volume rather than mass, so describing Camila as a 499GT yacht should not be mistaken for a statement that she weighs 499 tonnes. The structural and stability implications of large exterior areas are handled within the yacht's engineering design.
Hot Lab designed the interior around natural materials and a light palette that includes eucalyptus wood, stone, leather and other finishes chosen for the owner's brief. The most distinctive connection between decks is a six-metre chandelier in the central stairwell, which receives light through the glazed base of the hot tub above. This combination requires careful coordination between interior architecture, structure, lighting and the pool installation.
Accommodation is arranged for twelve guests in six cabins, including the main-deck owner's suite and five additional cabins below. A full-beam VIP is among the guest rooms, giving the layout flexibility for family members or friends travelling together. The 9.25-metre beam helps provide the width required for the larger rooms without making the yacht unusually long.
The 2025-built yacht is powered by a pair of 1,450-horsepower Caterpillar C32 engines. Published material quotes a cruising speed close to 12 knots, a maximum of around 16–17 knots and a range of approximately 5,000 nautical miles. These figures are yard or review specifications and should be confirmed for particular fuel reserves, loading and sea conditions before developing a passage plan.
With 499GT and a stated crew complement of nine plus a captain, the vessel occupies an interesting place in the superyacht market: large enough to support sophisticated hospitality and long voyages, yet still designed within a sub-500GT volume target. Long-distance operation depends as much on engineering access, reliable maintenance and crew workflow as on guest accommodation.
YachtBuyer says the Bilgin 163 II joined a relatively selective group of yachts reaching its highest overall rating. Bilgin has meanwhile been developing larger projects, including the 82-metre Project Bond, although those programmes are separate from Camila's latest recognition. An award to an existing yacht does not establish that future hulls will receive identical results.
The 9 October YachtBuyer report documents the trophy and individual scores, while Bilgin's model profile provides the maker's dimensions and design description. These different sources allow the award results to be distinguished from the builder's specifications.
For prospective owners, the central insight is the value of assessing how spaces function together. Camila's award follows a design strategy that prioritised an extensive guest-facing stern, a spacious sun deck and carefully coordinated interiors without abandoning a long-range engineering brief.
