25.7m AvA Kando 85 V Establishes New Entry Point for Long-Range Explorer Series

AvA Yachts' 25.7-metre M/Y V is now listed by the Turkish builder as the delivered first hull of its Kando 85 long-range explorer series. Launched in June and delivered in 2026, the yacht combines a steel hull, aluminium superstructure, 7.5-metre beam and approximately 200 GT of internal volume, extending AvA's explorer philosophy into a more compact platform.

A smaller Kando with substantial volume

At 25.7 metres overall, M/Y V sits below the larger Kando 110, 120 and 130 series while retaining the steel-and-aluminium construction approach associated with AvA's explorer range. The 7.5-metre beam is comparatively generous for the length and helps create the approximately 200GT internal volume published by the builder.

That combination gives the yacht a different proposition from lighter planing vessels around the same overall length. The emphasis is on storage, endurance and living volume rather than maximum speed, making the platform relevant to owners who want longer independent cruising without moving immediately into a 35-metre yacht.

The first hull establishes the production baseline

As hull number one, M/Y V provides the first completed reference for future Kando 85 buyers. A delivered yacht allows prospective owners to assess real proportions, circulation, crew working areas and machinery access rather than relying solely on general arrangements and rendering packages.

Subsequent hulls can still change through interior specification, equipment and owner preferences, but the first delivery establishes the underlying engineering and dimensional framework. It also gives the shipyard operational feedback that can be incorporated into later units in the series.

Explorer construction supports extended cruising

AvA says the Kando 85 was developed for long-range cruising, using robust construction and substantial storage to support longer voyages. The design philosophy follows the wider Kando line, where range, seaworthiness and onboard autonomy are prioritised over the high speeds found on many similarly sized performance yachts.

Long-range capability depends on more than hull material alone, including fuel capacity, machinery efficiency, stores, electrical redundancy and crew planning. Buyers considering remote itineraries would still need to match the yacht's final equipment package to the intended cruising area and support requirements.

M/Y V broadens AvA's delivered fleet

The builder now lists M/Y V alongside its larger delivered Kando yachts and the Voyage 90 projects currently under construction. That creates a clearer ladder of sizes for owners who want the company's explorer approach but do not require the volume or operating costs of the larger Kando platforms.

For the market, the important development is that the Kando 85 is no longer only a concept or build programme. A 2026 delivery gives the series a completed reference yacht and provides AvA with a new product in the 25-to-30-metre explorer sector.
