AvA Yachts will present the first Kando 85 explorer yacht, M/Y V, at the Cannes Yachting Festival before taking the newly delivered yacht to the Monaco Yacht Show.
Turkish shipyard AvA Yachts will give the first yacht in its new Kando 85 series her world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September, before presenting the vessel again later that month at the Monaco Yacht Show. The 25.70-metre M/Y V was delivered to her owner in July following sea trials off Antalya.
Designed and built at AvA Yachts' facility in the Antalya Free Trade Zone, M/Y V introduces the shipyard's steel-hulled Kando explorer concept at a smaller size than its existing Kando 110 series. Despite a load-line length of 23.90 metres, AvA says the yacht provides four full decks and approximately 200 GT of internal volume.
The yacht is scheduled to appear at the Cannes Yachting Festival from 8 to 13 September 2026, followed by the Monaco Yacht Show from 23 to 26 September 2026. The two appearances will place the first completed Kando 85 in front of buyers, brokers and industry visitors for the first time.
The Kando 85 has been developed around the same long-range principles as AvA Yachts' larger explorer models, combining a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure and concentrating heavily on volume and endurance. M/Y V measures 25.70 metres overall with a 7.50-metre beam, while her load-line length remains below 24 metres.
AvA reports a gross tonnage of approximately 200 GT across four full decks. The arrangement includes a full-beam owner's suite on the main deck, four guest cabins accommodating up to nine guests and separate quarters for two to three crew.
Exterior areas include a foredeck Jacuzzi and substantial open-deck spaces intended for extended cruising rather than purely short-range Mediterranean operation. Zero-speed fin stabilisers and dual Starlink connectivity are also included in the specification supplied by the shipyard.
The combination of four decks and relatively short overall length is central to AvA's positioning of the model. Rather than pursuing high speed, the Kando 85 is intended to maximise interior volume and provide the tankage and machinery required for prolonged passages.
M/Y V is powered by twin Volvo Penta D13-MH engines rated at 450 hp each. According to AvA Yachts, sea trials off Antalya produced a range of more than 5,000 nautical miles at nine knots from the yacht's 24,000-litre fuel capacity.
The shipyard says range can increase to approximately 12,000 nautical miles at lower passage speed, although that figure is supplied by AvA rather than independently verified performance data. The reported endurance places the emphasis firmly on efficient displacement cruising rather than speed.
AvA also says independent ISO-accredited testing recorded approximately 50 dBA in the owner's cabin at cruising speed. The yard reports that vibration measured in the accommodation spaces remained below the threshold of perception during testing.
Those figures form an important part of the Kando concept because long-range capability depends not only on fuel capacity but on whether owners and guests can remain comfortable during extended passages. Noise, vibration, stabilisation and machinery efficiency therefore become as important as headline range.
M/Y V is the first Kando 85 to be completed, but a second hull is already under construction at AvA Yachts. The shipyard says Kando 85 Hull #2 is currently available for sale with delivery expected in approximately 18 months.
New-order pricing for the Kando 85 starts from €7.825 million excluding VAT, according to the press release. That positions the model as a relatively compact entry into the steel-hulled explorer sector while retaining the high-volume layout associated with larger displacement yachts.
The Kando 85 joins a wider AvA Yachts range that already includes the Kando 110. The shipyard has previously delivered the 33.5-metre Lady Caroline in 2019 and Infinity Nine in 2021.
A third Kando 110, M/Y Helene, is currently under construction for delivery in 2027. AvA also reports that two yachts from its aluminium Voyage 90 series are under construction and available for sale, with projected delivery periods of approximately 10 to 14 months.
The Cannes Yachting Festival will provide the first public presentation of M/Y V. AvA plans to berth the yacht at Vieux Port during the show, giving visitors the first opportunity to inspect how the four-deck Kando concept has translated from design into a completed yacht.
M/Y V will then travel to Monaco, where she is scheduled to appear at Port Hercule during the Monaco Yacht Show. The move from Cannes to Monaco gives AvA two consecutive opportunities to introduce the model to different sections of the international yacht market.
For a relatively young series, those appearances are commercially significant. The first hull provides a physical reference point for prospective buyers considering the second Kando 85 or a new-build order, allowing them to assess volume, finish, circulation and machinery installation rather than relying on renderings.
The yacht's presence at both shows will also give AvA an opportunity to demonstrate the broader capabilities of its Antalya operation. The builder says furniture, upholstery, stainless-steel work, mechanical outfitting and paint work are carried out largely in-house by its own workforce.
AvA Yachts was founded in 2005 by naval architect Atilla Kucukdiker and has developed its range around long-range displacement yachts. The shipyard currently divides its offering between the steel-hulled Kando explorer family and the aluminium Voyage series.
Kucukdiker said the completion of M/Y V represented the work of the yard's engineering and production teams in Antalya. He also indicated that AvA plans to expand its range further with new three-deck models using steel hulls and aluminium superstructures.
For now, the immediate focus will be M/Y V and the response to the first Kando 85 at Cannes and Monaco. With a second hull already in build, the September shows will move the series from a new design programme into a model that prospective owners can evaluate as a completed yacht.
Until now, the Kando 85 has largely been a design and construction proposition. M/Y V gives prospective owners a completed yacht that can be boarded and assessed against AvA's claims for volume, comfort, construction and long-range capability.
With the second hull already under construction, the reception M/Y V receives at Cannes and Monaco will provide the first indication of how the market responds to the new series. The September appearances turn the Kando 85 from a development programme into a yacht that buyers can inspect as a finished product.
