Baltic Yachts has delivered the 37.08m ALICE, an all-carbon performance cruiser designed for fast family bluewater cruising with limited crew.
Baltic Yachts has delivered the 37.08-metre sailing yacht ALICE from its Jakobstad yard in Finland, completing a custom all-carbon performance cruiser conceived for fast, comfortable and capable bluewater cruising. Designed by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design with an interior by Adam Lay Studio, ALICE was developed around extensive family cruising while retaining the responsiveness and sailing performance expected from a modern Baltic.
The yacht combines an all-carbon structure with a telescopic keel, generous sail plan and contemporary glass deckhouse. Baltic says the design was shaped around long-range adventures, with safe and reliable systems, strong offshore capability and an emphasis on making a yacht of this size straightforward to sail with a limited crew.
ALICE measures 37.08 metres overall with a 33.80-metre design waterline and an 8.30-metre beam. Baltic lists light-craft displacement at 109 tonnes in its delivery announcement, with 35 tonnes of ballast, giving the project a substantial cruising platform while relying on carbon construction to control structural weight.
The telescopic keel changes draft from 4.15 metres to 6.40 metres, allowing the yacht to combine deeper-draft offshore performance with access to a wider range of cruising grounds. That flexibility sits at the centre of the design brief, which called for a yacht capable of covering long distances under sail without sacrificing the practicality required for extended family use.
Baltic identifies ease of sailing as one of ALICE's defining characteristics. Her captive halyard, in-boom furling mainsail and furling headsails are arranged so the yacht can leave the dock and set sail quickly, reducing the number of manual steps required from the crew during routine manoeuvres.
Delivery captain Ryan Taylor said the yacht can move from leaving the dock to sailing within minutes and behaves more like a smaller high-performance yacht once her sails are set and trimmed. Baltic has therefore combined the systems needed for limited-crew operation with a platform the yard believes could also perform strongly in superyacht regattas if the owner chooses to compete.
Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design is responsible for ALICE's naval architecture and exterior design, including the extensive glazing that gives the deckhouse panoramic views and brings natural light into the interior. A fixed bimini provides shelter and shade while preserving the connection between the protected guest areas and the surrounding sea.
Inside, Adam Lay Studio developed a natural and textural interior around brushed walnut, tactile veneers, fabrics and carefully integrated lighting. Baltic says subtle references to water and the natural environment appear throughout the accommodation, supporting an atmosphere intended to remain comfortable and practical during prolonged periods of family cruising.
ALICE was built at Baltic Yachts' Jakobstad facility with A2B Marine Projects representing the owner and Tommy Johansson leading project management for the yard. The delivery completes a project first announced as the Baltic 121 Custom and places the yacht among Baltic's recent large custom sailing yachts built around lightweight composite construction and advanced engineering.
With delivery complete, ALICE has left Finland to begin her cruising programme. Her combination of 37.08-metre length, all-carbon construction, variable-draft keel and limited-crew sailing systems gives the finished yacht a clear role as a long-range family cruiser designed to cover distance efficiently while remaining rewarding to sail.
