The 42-metre Benetti Veloce 140 EMINA is being offered by Royal Yacht International at a show-specific $13.95 million, reflecting a $1 million price adjustment.
Royal Yacht International has introduced EMINA, a Benetti Veloce 140 of approximately 42 metres, as a joint central-agency sale offering during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. The brokerage says the asking price is reduced by $1 million, from $14.95 million to $13.95 million for the show period running 28 October to 1 November 2026. Its sales particulars identify the yacht as a 2014 build. This is an advertised adjustment, not a completed sale.
Prospective purchasers should treat the show-specific price as a dated commercial offer and confirm its continued availability directly. The brokerage also states that EMINA is not for sale to United States residents while in US waters, a qualification that cannot be ignored in negotiations. The relevant legal, import and tax position depends on the buyer and transaction structure. A broker’s marketing language cannot substitute for independent legal advice or documentary confirmation.
EMINA is from the Veloce 140 family, a design that uses Benetti’s D2P hull concept to combine efficient displacement cruising with higher-speed operation. Royal Yacht International quotes twin 3,460-horsepower MTU engines and a maximum speed of 24 knots. The broker presents that figure alongside recent mechanical investment rather than as a speed measured during a current sea trial. It gives the yacht an unusual operating profile for her size and guest capacity.
Speed is a major component of cost. The fuel consumption associated with a fast passage can be materially different from that of economical cruising, while sea state and loading affect what is comfortable. Buyers should request actual fuel logs, engine readings and recent trial data. A yacht advertised at 24 knots may often be enjoyed at a slower setting. The owner’s preferred cruising pattern, not merely maximum speed, should determine the value of this feature.
The brokerage specifies accommodation for up to 12 guests in six staterooms, a flexible arrangement for extended-family and social cruising. The full-beam main-deck owner’s suite has a private balcony on the starboard side, giving the principal guests a direct relationship with the water. Several of the other guest rooms can support couples or different generations. The exact furniture configuration and crew arrangements should be inspected against the current general arrangement and inventory.
Privacy and circulation are particularly important on a yacht carrying a full guest complement. Owners should walk the routes between cabins, dining spaces and outdoor terraces, considering service access and noise as well as appearance. A fold-out balcony is a memorable feature, but it also needs operating limits, locks and a servicing plan. When a vessel is being evaluated for future charter use, its relevant certification and flag requirements should be reviewed separately.
EMINA’s exterior programme includes a sundeck of approximately 77 square metres, a bar, shaded seating, sunpads and a pool described by the brokerage as Jacuzzi-style. A beach club with a separate bar provides another gathering place beside the water. These spaces allow different groups to enjoy the yacht without everyone occupying the same terrace. The practical appeal will depend on shade, wind protection, deck drainage and how comfortable the circulation is when tenders are deployed.
Any leisure area should be understood as working marine equipment as well as hospitality space. Spa pools need water treatment and reliable systems; deck bars require cold storage, power and effective service access; beach-club openings depend on conditions. The full equipment list should state what is included in the sale and what remains subject to owner removal. Photographs are useful evidence of presentation, but they are not a binding inventory.
The broker reports completion of a ten-year RINA class survey and substantial technical attention, including generator rebuilding, electrical-infrastructure work and major engine servicing. These are potentially meaningful improvements on a yacht of this age. They should be traced to dates, yard reports, invoices and acceptance documents. A survey notation confirms compliance with defined requirements at a given time; it does not certify that every hospitality or navigation system is free from defects.
Independent surveyors should review engine hours and oil analysis, inspect the hull and appendages, and verify the functioning of stabilisers, water-makers and electrical distribution. The announced upgrades can shorten a buyer’s technical questions only when their scope is clear. A system described as renewed may still contain older components elsewhere in its circuit. The sensible acquisition strategy combines an attractive brokerage presentation with detailed documentary examination and representative sea trials.
At $13.95 million, EMINA’s temporary asking position brings a 42-metre, six-cabin, performance-oriented Benetti into a distinct part of the brokerage market. A potential buyer should compare her against yachts with similar volume, propulsion complexity and recent investment rather than simply those of similar overall length. The show price may stimulate enquiries, but it is not proof of the seller’s final terms or the vessel’s appraised value.
The immediate next step is a serious inspection supported by current documentation: title, tax, class, flag, refit records, inventories, crew and operating budget. Royal Yacht International’s Fort Lauderdale presentation establishes that the yacht is being marketed and identifies the special asking price. The real decision will turn on technical condition and whether the combination of high speed, spacious decks and guest flexibility matches a future owner’s cruising habits.
