Owners, captains and representatives can now submit requests through a single centralised system covering Naples and a wider network of participating marinas around the Gulf and surrounding cruising region.
BWA is acting as the Official Superyacht Programme Delivery Partner and exclusive berth-booking provider for the programme. The arrangement gives participating yachts one operational point of contact rather than requiring captains or management teams to negotiate separately with each marina as they plan arrival dates, guest movements and operational requirements for the event.
The preferred marina network currently comprises New Marina di Bagnoli, Marina Molo Luise, Stabia Main Port, Marina di Stabia, Sud Cantieri at Pozzuoli, Marina di Capri, Marina di Arechi in Salerno and Marina di Procida. BWA says additional facilities are still finalising participation, so the list may expand as preparations for the 2027 America’s Cup continue.
New Marina di Bagnoli is expected to become one of the key locations within the programme as part of the wider waterfront regeneration associated with the America’s Cup. The broader network also spreads berth capacity beyond central Naples, giving yachts alternatives across Castellammare di Stabia, Capri, Procida, Pozzuoli and Salerno according to size, draft and itinerary requirements.
BWA says each booking request will be assessed individually rather than allocated through a simple first-come list. The process takes account of length overall, draft, operational requirements, planned arrival and departure dates and actual berth availability, all of which become increasingly important as yacht size rises and the number of physically suitable positions falls.
The centralised process extends beyond the berth itself. BWA will coordinate yacht registration, assess availability across the preferred network, issue berth proposals and handle pre-arrival operational planning, while participating yachts will also enter the Official Superyacht Programme through a dedicated membership linked to hospitality and event access.
The berth-booking announcement comes as Naples prepares for the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup Preliminary Regatta from 24 to 27 September 2026. The event brings the current America’s Cup cycle to the Gulf of Naples well before the main competition in 2027, giving organisers and the city an opportunity to test event operations, spectator arrangements and waterfront activity on a smaller scale.
The Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup is scheduled for the Italian spring and summer of 2027, with the Match starting on 10 July. Naples will become the first Italian host city for the America’s Cup Match, placing the Gulf at the centre of an event expected to attract racing teams, spectators, commercial partners and a significant concentration of private superyachts.
The opening of bookings matters because superyacht attendance at an America’s Cup creates a different infrastructure challenge from ordinary seasonal demand. Large yachts require suitable depth, berth length, manoeuvring room, security, transport connections and reliable arrival planning, while owners and guests may also expect practical access to race viewing, hospitality and shore-side events.
BWA is encouraging early registration but says berths will ultimately be allocated according to yacht specifications, operational requirements and availability rather than registration alone. With eight preferred marinas already in the network and further participation expected, the opening of the central booking system marks the point at which Naples 2027 begins moving from event planning into practical superyacht logistics.
