BWA Yachting has opened agencies in Panama City and Cartagena, extending its superyacht support network between the Caribbean, Latin America and the Pacific.
BWA Yachting has expanded into Latin America with new agencies in Panama City and Cartagena, Colombia. The move extends the yacht-services group’s operational network between established Caribbean cruising grounds and routes leading through the Panama Canal into the Pacific.
The two agencies have been developed with Rozo Group, BWA Yachting’s preferred regional partner. Jaime Rozo will oversee the operations, with Emanuel Lewis managing the Panama operation and Stefy Villa leading the Cartagena office.
BWA Yachting Panama will make coordination of yacht transits through the Panama Canal a central part of its work. The service covers advance planning, documentation, formalities and local assistance through the crossing process.
This is particularly relevant to large yachts repositioning between Caribbean and Pacific cruising programmes. Canal arrangements can involve significant advance preparation, making an established local yacht agent useful well before the vessel reaches Panama.
Both offices will provide port and customs formalities, immigration and clearances, berthing, bunkering and provisioning. Technical and logistical assistance, transportation, crew support, guest services and concierge work are also included.
In Colombia, the Cartagena operation adds local support for yachts cruising the country’s Caribbean coastline. Combined with BWA’s existing Caribbean and Puerto Rico coverage, the expansion creates a more continuous agency network across the region.
BWA sees Panama and Colombia as strategically positioned for changing superyacht itineraries in the Americas. Panama is the practical gateway between the two oceans, while Cartagena is an established Caribbean destination with growing relevance to visiting yachts.
The company also points to future Pacific events, including the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, as one reason yacht movement through the region could increase. The new offices therefore add both immediate operational support and infrastructure for longer-term cruising patterns.
