Damen Yachting Delivers 60m Amels QU2 for Mediterranean Charter Season

QU2 departs Vlissingen after delivery

Damen Yachting has delivered the 60-metre Amels QU2 following completion and a private naming ceremony at its Vlissingen City yard. The yacht will begin her maiden voyage toward the northern Mediterranean before entering a planned charter programme.

QU2 combines the established Amels 60 technical platform with custom interiors by Winch Design. That balance allows the owner to create a distinctive onboard atmosphere without restarting the engineering process from a blank sheet.

Layout supports private use and charter

Large exterior areas, an expansive swim platform and a beach club are intended to keep guests connected with the water. Storage for tenders and toys adds flexibility for active itineraries while crew circulation has been planned around the higher service demands of charter operation.

Damen Yachting says the yacht was shaped around both guest comfort and smooth crew workflow. That combination becomes particularly important when a yacht moves between private owner use and back-to-back charter periods.

Delivery adds another reference to the Amels 60 fleet

The Amels 60 series has now accumulated a growing group of yachts with different interiors and operating profiles. Each delivery gives Damen Yachting additional information on how the platform performs in charter, private cruising and long-range use.

QU2’s departure also places the yacht into service in time for the Mediterranean season. The project now moves from yard-controlled commissioning into the real-world operating cycle that will define the owner and charter experience.
