Ferretti Group has secured permission to enlarge a production hall at Ancona, enabling 100m superyachts. The port authority confirms a €3m building investment and six-month works programme.
Ferretti Group has received authorisation to expand a production facility at its Ancona Superyacht Yard, preparing the site to build yachts up to 100 metres. The company announced the approval on 26 October 2026, describing an increase from the existing 90-metre building capability.
The announcement concerns industrial infrastructure rather than a newly signed yacht order. It gives the group scope to pursue larger projects once the building work is completed, but does not identify a first 100-metre yacht or a delivery date for one.
The Central Adriatic Sea Port System Authority published its own notice on 21 October, confirming permission to enlarge one of the Ferretti yard’s superyacht production halls. It states that the investment in the works is €3 million and that completion is expected within six months.
The authority also confirms that the approval process took 54 days. The authorisation was signed by Giosy Romano, coordinator of the national Special Economic Zone, and Mirco Carloni, president of the port authority, with the municipality of Ancona involved in the administrative process.
Ferretti separately estimates an initial economic impact of approximately €30 million for the surrounding area and its industrial supply chain. That company estimate describes a broader effect than the €3 million construction investment stated by the port authority, so the two figures should not be read as competing price tags for the same building work.
The wider impact estimate has not been independently verified in the material reviewed. The building programme, its intended 100-metre capability and the duration of the authorisation process are supported by the authority’s own announcement, providing a firmer basis for assessing what has actually been approved.
For an owner considering a large custom yacht, the distinction between approved capacity and an available building slot remains essential. An enlarged hall can widen a yard’s technical envelope, while a specific project still requires its own design, construction contract and delivery programme.
The next useful milestone will therefore be completion of the expansion and confirmation of the projects that use it. Until then, Ancona’s development is a concrete step in production planning, with its commercial outcome still to be demonstrated through future orders and completed yachts.
