39m Four Seasons Explorer Adds Remote Kayangel to Palau Voyages

A new northern reach for a floating resort

Four Seasons Explorer Palau has introduced a route to Kayangel, a remote island at the northern end of Palau's archipelago. The operator announced the new sailing option on 11 September 2026, with access dependent on conditions rather than a guaranteed daily stop.

The 39-metre catamaran accommodates 22 guests in ten staterooms and an Explorer Suite, giving the programme a distinct place in the superyacht market. It operates as a shared floating resort with daily embarkation options, not as a private yacht available solely to one chartering family.

A beach lunch at the end of a crossing

Kayangel covers about 1.4 square kilometres and can only be reached by boat, making it a noticeably different shore excursion from a busy resort island. Four Seasons says a stretch of beach is reserved for Explorer guests, where the programme includes a picnic-style lunch with vegetarian and seafood options.

The menu described in the release ranges from fresh salads to prawns, grilled cod and a simple dessert, with the sand and shallow water forming the setting. Weather, sea state and local access arrangements will determine whether the vessel can actually visit on a particular voyage.

Palau north and south

The new northern route complements the Explorer's programme in the southern Rock Islands, including diving, snorkelling, kayaking and cultural visits. The operator says the vessel reaches both the northern and southern islands, offering a broader geographical range than an itinerary centred on a single lagoon.

Palau has extensive protected marine territory and operators must work within local conservation and permitting requirements. Guests should confirm dive qualifications, activity suitability and the final excursion plan rather than assume every site is visited in one stay.

Flexible days afloat

Four Seasons promotes daily embarkation and disembarkation, allowing a guest to choose a stay length around international travel. The operator has also announced M-Dock, a waterfront restaurant, bar and lounge scheduled to open on 1 October 2026 as part of its shore-based offering.
