Green Yard Kleven offers its 100m KY100 polar expedition design, with PC5 specification, hybrid propulsion and optional methanol engines; no order is confirmed.

A 100-metre expedition design offered for construction

Green Yard Kleven has introduced the KY100, a 100-metre expedition yacht concept that it says is available for order. The Norwegian yard's announcement is dated 15 September 2026 and does not confirm a signed construction contract, launch date or delivery.

The design has been developed with Opalinski Design House and HAV Design around a technical platform, general arrangement and planned build methodology. Green Yard describes the proposal as ready to be built, but that designation should not be confused with a yacht already under construction.

Polar-class dimensions and planned performance

The specification gives a length of 100 metres, beam of 18 metres, Polar Class PC5 design and a stated service speed of 18 knots. These are proposed project characteristics supplied by the yard, not independently verified results from sea trials of a completed KY100.

A glazed panorama lounge is planned to provide a broad forward view, while the arrangement also includes an enclosed helicopter hangar and tender and expedition-equipment stowage. A beach club and infinity pool are included in the published concept, with interior details to be developed with a future owner.

Hybrid propulsion and fuel options

Green Yard specifies battery-hybrid propulsion intended to permit quiet periods at anchor with generators stopped. It also lists sewage treatment and exhaust cleaning as standard design provisions, with methanol dual-fuel engines available as an option rather than a confirmed installation.

The yard has not published a measured fuel-consumption comparison or verified lifetime emissions assessment for the unbuilt yacht. Buyers should request project-specific machinery schedules, fuel-system design and class documentation before interpreting the sustainability claims as achieved performance.

What happens next

The KY100 is being marketed with a build slot available, with further technical and commercial specifications offered to qualified purchasers. Green Yard has not disclosed a contract price or a firm delivery date in the announcement reviewed for this report.

The yard's record includes expedition vessel work and earlier large expedition-yacht projects, which it cites as experience informing the KY100 technical platform. The image accompanying this report is the official project rendering, not a photograph of a launched or completed yacht.
