Hodgdon Tenders Brings 10.6m T/T NIXIE Coupe Tender to Monaco

Hodgdon Tenders is displaying its newest 10.6-metre coupe tender, T/T NIXIE, at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026. The tender is being shown afloat at Port Hercule as the Maine builder highlights the latest development in its custom limousine and guest-tender programme.

T/T NIXIE was built in Maine and designed by Michael Peters Yacht Design for a 102-metre superyacht built in Northern Europe. The mothership is the 102.4-metre NIXIE, giving the tender a very specific operating role rather than positioning it as a standalone production boat.

Enclosed comfort without losing the day-boat experience

The coupe concept combines a protected enclosed cabin with the open-air experience expected from a guest tender. That balance matters because superyacht tenders frequently have to serve as weather-protected transport one moment and as a leisure platform the next.

For owners and designers, the practical challenge is to make the tender feel like an extension of the mothership rather than a compromise imposed by storage and launch limits. Hodgdon's approach keeps the formal arrival experience of a limousine tender while preserving outdoor use when conditions allow.

Custom tenders are becoming more specialised

The NIXIE tender illustrates how large-yacht support craft are increasingly designed around a defined mission rather than a single generic specification. Passenger transfer, beach access, water sports, crew logistics and guest entertainment can all demand different hull forms, layouts and equipment.

A bespoke coupe tender also has to fit the mothership's garage, lifting points and operating procedures, so design work is closely tied to the parent yacht. That makes weight, beam, height, boarding geometry and crane compatibility just as important as styling and interior finish.

Monaco puts the tender in front of project teams

Showing T/T NIXIE in the water allows owners' representatives, captains, designers and shipyards to assess boarding, visibility, interior protection and exterior circulation directly. Those details are difficult to judge from renderings alone and can materially affect how well a tender works in everyday service.

The display also strengthens Hodgdon's position in a part of the supply chain that is becoming more technically demanding as motherships grow larger and tender programmes become more ambitious. In Monaco, the builder is presenting the tender as a completed working example rather than only a future design proposal.
