Horizon Yachts reports strong European interest in its 30m FD100 Tri-Deck after displays in Cannes and Monaco, with Mallorca viewings and new-build negotiations planned.

A post-show report from the Taiwanese shipyard

Horizon Yachts says its appearances at the Cannes Yachting Festival and Monaco Yacht Show have generated fresh interest from European owners and brokers, with the thirty-metre FD100 Tri-Deck at the centre of the presentation. In an update dated 16 October, the Taiwanese shipyard describes its twelfth FD100 hull attracting visitors who already own yachts and are considering their next purchase.

The two September events provided an opportunity to show the actual vessel at close range, rather than relying only on marketing renders and showroom plans. The company highlights the effect of improved berth positioning at the shows, which it says brought visitors onto the yacht more consistently.

The update is a report on customer interest and early negotiations, not a list of new signed contracts. Any claims of completed sales or confirmed future orders would require a separate announcement from Horizon and the relevant purchasers.

Why the FD100 made an impression

At about thirty metres, the FD100 Tri-Deck offers a three-level layout that Horizon believes feels larger than the overall length might suggest. The builder points to generous enclosed space and floor-to-ceiling glazing as elements that make the guest accommodation feel particularly open.

Visitors were able to examine the yacht’s custom fit and finish and compare the build quality against the European yards most familiar to owners in that market. The shipyard says experienced owners commented positively on the detail and standard of the interiors, although those reactions remain the company’s account of conversations at the shows.

For prospective owners, the most useful comparison is between actual deck plans, gross tonnage, service areas and vessel-specific equipment. A yacht that appears spacious in the saloon still has to accommodate crew working routes, stores, machinery and the operational demands of travel.

European demand is not confined to one size

Horizon says conversations with visitors frequently focused on the eighty-to-one-hundred-foot segment, including models below the twenty-four-metre regulatory threshold. At the same time, the shipyard reports enquiries about larger custom yachts exceeding one hundred feet, a market relevant to its superyacht building capabilities.

This distinction matters because buying a larger yacht can introduce different obligations around crewing, certification, insurance and harbour access. The overall length is only one factor, and prospective owners need advice on the implications of the proposed flag and intended private or commercial operation.

Horizon’s report suggests its European sales team is trying to translate show interest into more concrete conversations, but expressions of interest should not be counted as delivered yachts. New-build negotiations can depend on extensive configuration choices, delivery slots and contractual protections.

Mallorca as a location for follow-up inspections

Horizon Yacht Europe plans to host private yacht viewings and sea trials through its Mallorca hub as the next step after the autumn shows. That gives interested owners a practical way to assess handling, deck access and cabin comfort before committing to detailed discussions about a new build.

The builder has also pointed to developments tailored to European buyers, although the October statement does not provide a complete specification or delivery timetable for any new model. The firm is therefore signalling a direction for its regional product strategy rather than announcing an additional completed yacht.

For owners comparing new construction with recent brokerage options, direct inspection is a useful part of the decision. Horizon’s European campaign provides a further opportunity to assess the company’s thirty-metre platform and its potential as the basis for longer-term ownership.
