IBEX and Metstrade Launch U.S. Market Pathway for Marine Firms

IBEX and Metstrade announced a new export-focused programme intended to help international marine companies enter the United States market. The initiative was developed with the National Marine Representatives Association and Marine Marketers of America, combining exhibition exposure with structured market-entry support.

Targeting the world's largest recreational boating market

The release described the U.S. recreational boating sector as generating approximately $230 billion in annual economic impact and supporting more than 812,000 jobs. For overseas equipment and technology companies, the programme is intended to reduce some of the commercial barriers involved in establishing distributors, representatives and customer relationships in North America.

The first stage was planned around IBEX 2026 in Tampa, with participating companies located in a dedicated International Pavilion. The package included curated networking, educational support and pre-arranged meetings with independent marine sales representatives and distributors.

A two-way trade-show relationship

The initiative strengthens the commercial link between the European-focused Metstrade network and the North American technical marine market represented by IBEX. Rather than treating exhibition attendance as a standalone marketing exercise, the partners are positioning the programme around introductions that can create longer-term sales channels.

The programme was announced on 27 May 2026 as part of wider efforts to connect international marine suppliers with established U.S. market infrastructure. It adds a specific export-development route to the existing relationship between the two major marine trade events.
