There are 54 existing superyachts measuring 100 metres or more in Superyacht Guide’s current public fleet snapshot as of 2 September 2026. The figure comes directly from the live Superyacht Guide fleet, rather than from an estimated global total or a static third-party ranking.
The underlying public dataset contains 56 yachts of at least 100 metres before type and project-status adjustments. One vessel, the 222-metre Somnio, is excluded because Superyacht Guide classifies her as a Residential yacht / yacht liner, while the announced 122.5-metre Project Elusive is separated from the existing fleet because she remains a pre-construction project.
The answer from the current Superyacht Guide public fleet is 54 existing yachts at or above the 100-metre threshold. They range from 194.9-metre REV Ocean at the top of the list to 100-metre Pi at the threshold, and the count includes both motor and sailing yachts where they meet the same public-fleet and length criteria.
The 100-metre mark describes a very small part of the wider superyacht fleet, but the size distribution within this group is still broad. There are 8 yachts of 150 metres or more, 3 between 140 and 149.99 metres, 14 between 120 and 139.99 metres, 15 between 110 and 119.99 metres, and 14 between 100 and 109.99 metres.

Lürssen is the largest builder represented in the current 100m+ existing fleet, with 27 of the 54 yachts. The next two builders are Oceanco with 8 and Feadship with 7. The concentration reflects how few yards have the infrastructure, engineering depth and long-term client base required to build repeatedly at this scale.
Builder totals should be read as a snapshot of existing yachts rather than a forecast of future market share. New projects can alter the ranking quickly because the 100m+ segment is numerically small, while a single yard may have several very large yachts at different stages of construction, launch, sea trials or delivery.
The 222-metre Somnio, built by VARD, is not counted in the 54 because her live Superyacht Guide type is Residential yacht / yacht liner. This follows the same established methodology used for Superyacht Guide’s largest-yacht rankings, which keeps residential yacht and yacht-liner projects outside the standard superyacht ranking universe.
The 122.5-metre Project Elusive by Lürssen is also not included in the answer of 54 because the current production record classifies her as Announced / pre-construction. She remains visible separately because the purpose of a live-data ranking is not only to show what exists today, but also to make clear which 100m+ projects are approaching the fleet without prematurely counting them as completed yachts.
