39m Mangusta Oceano 39 Heads to Cannes 2026 as Brand Teases World Premiere

Mangusta will present the 39.2-metre Oceano 39 at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2026, which runs in Cannes from 8 to 13 September. The Italian builder will display the yacht at Jetée Sud 013/170 alongside a separate world premiere that remains unidentified in its official 3 September announcement.

The shipyard has deliberately not named the second premiere, so Superyacht Guide is not speculating about its identity before Mangusta publishes further information. The confirmed Cannes programme therefore consists of the Oceano 39 plus an additional new yacht whose model and specifications have yet to be disclosed.

324 GT of volume within a 39.2-metre platform

The Mangusta Oceano 39 measures approximately 39.2 metres overall with an 8.5-metre beam and 324 GT of internal volume. Mangusta describes the three-deck design as an attempt to provide the volumes and comfort normally associated with larger yachts while retaining a length that remains below 40 metres.

The official model specification lists a single-skin composite hull and carbon-fibre superstructure, with zero-speed and underway stabilisation included in the technical package. The combination of composite construction and substantial internal volume places the model between conventional fast composite yachts and larger displacement designs in Mangusta's current portfolio.

Alberto Mancini shapes the exterior design

The Oceano 39 was developed by the Overmarine Group Engineering Department together with Alberto Mancini Yacht Design, which is credited with the exterior styling alongside Overmarine Group. The design emphasises large glazed areas, balanced proportions and a visual relationship with the sea rather than relying solely on the performance-led profile traditionally associated with the Mangusta name.

Mangusta positions the Oceano range as its long-range displacement family, giving the 39 a different role from the builder's Maxi Open and GranSport yachts. Cannes will therefore provide prospective owners with an opportunity to compare the company's slower, volume-oriented cruising approach against the faster models for which the brand has historically been known.

Five cabins accommodate up to 12 guests

The standard model specification provides accommodation for up to 12 guests in five cabins, supported by seven crew in four crew cabins. That guest capacity is significant at 39.2 metres because it combines a conventional five-cabin arrangement with the 324 GT volume that Mangusta is highlighting as one of the model's principal characteristics.

Two propulsion configurations are published for the Oceano 39. Twin MTU 12V 2000 M86 engines give a stated maximum speed of about 15 knots and 12-knot cruising speed, while twin MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines raise the figures to approximately 18 knots maximum and 16 knots cruising, with the model page quoting about 2,050 nautical miles of range at a 10-knot economical speed.
