Tankoa’s 52-metre full-custom M/Y SPIRIT has made its world premiere in Monaco, combining Vitruvius design with six guest cabins and full-hybrid propulsion.

Tankoa Yachts has presented the 52-metre M/Y SPIRIT at the Monaco Yacht Show for her world premiere. The full-custom yacht was developed around a Vitruvius Yacht Design exterior by Philippe Briand, interiors by FM Architettura and a full-hybrid propulsion package, creating a very different owner proposition from Tankoa’s semi-custom platforms.

A full-custom project built around wellbeing

SPIRIT was created around an owner brief that places health, outdoor living and extended time aboard at the centre of the design. The yacht includes a full-beam gymnasium opening onto an aft terrace with a plunge pool, giving exercise and wellness functions a direct relationship with the sea rather than isolating them inside the accommodation.

The overall arrangement provides six guest cabins and substantial exterior areas while remaining within a 52-metre platform. Tankoa describes the yacht as an example of its boutique approach, where naval architecture and interior planning are developed around one owner’s priorities rather than a fixed standard layout.

Vitruvius design shapes the exterior and hull

Philippe Briand’s Vitruvius Yacht Design is responsible for the exterior concept, bringing the studio’s emphasis on efficient proportions and long-range usability to the project. The hull form is intended to support comfortable cruising rather than chase high maximum speed.

A cruising speed of 15 knots is paired with a full-hybrid propulsion system that allows different machinery modes to be selected according to operating conditions. The package can reduce generator dependence and enable quieter low-speed or at-anchor operation when the electrical system is used appropriately.

FM Architettura develops the interior around six suites

FM Architettura designed the interior with six guest cabins and a material palette intended to remain calm and residential during extended cruising. The owner’s spaces, guest accommodation and shared saloons are arranged to support privacy while still maintaining strong links with the yacht’s outdoor areas.

The gym and aft terrace are central to that brief, but the wider design also emphasises natural light and circulation. On a yacht intended for longer use, those day-to-day qualities can be as important to owners as individual headline features or decorative finishes.

Monaco marks the transition from build to public presentation

SPIRIT was launched earlier in 2026 and moved through commissioning before reaching Monaco. The show therefore represents her first major public presentation rather than a new launch, giving clients and brokers the opportunity to inspect the completed project alongside Tankoa’s other current yachts.

Superyacht Guide is treating the Monaco appearance as a distinct event milestone because SPIRIT had not previously been shown publicly at this level. Future coverage should focus on delivery, operation or subsequent technical developments rather than repeating the launch and premiere stages already completed.
