Marinedi has completed a financing transaction with BCC Banca Iccrea and BCC Roma that clears Tigullio Shipping debt linked to the Chiavari port expansion.
Marinedi has completed a financing transaction arranged with BCC Banca Iccrea and BCC Roma to restructure the debt of subsidiary Tigullio Shipping, the concessionaire associated with expansion of the port of Chiavari in Liguria. A transaction account published on 10 September 2026 by legal-industry publication Legalcommunity identifies law firm CBA as adviser to the financing banks and Marinedi.
The completed development is financial rather than physical: the announcement concerns a debt restructuring and does not state that the marina expansion works have been finished or opened. It also does not disclose a verified total financing amount, so no monetary figure has been inferred for this report.
According to the transaction statement, the bank financing supported Marinedi's purchase of a financial claim held by a securitisation vehicle managed by the Prelios group against Tigullio Shipping. Acquiring that exposure allowed Marinedi to complete the financial restructuring process for the subsidiary and eliminate the identified outstanding debt.
Tigullio Shipping previously entered the Marinedi group through a restructuring initiated under earlier shareholders. The latest arrangement addresses that inherited financial position rather than constituting a fresh acquisition of the entire marina or proving an increase in its berth capacity.
CBA advised BCC Banca Iccrea and BCC Roma on structuring the financing and negotiating its documentation, while also assisting Marinedi with the acquisition documentation for the claim. The law firm identified partner Francesco Dialti, senior associate Vincenzo Cimmino and associate Lucrezia Ghezzi as members of its team.
The report establishes the roles of the lenders, the creditor vehicle, the borrower group and the lawyers, but does not publish the debt's earlier nominal value or the price paid for the exposure. Without those figures, the agreement cannot reasonably be used to calculate a discount, gain or valuation of the port development.
The transaction removes a financing obstacle for the company holding the Chiavari expansion concession and may provide a more stable platform for subsequent work. Specific building milestones, environmental authorisations, completed berths and an opening date would need to be confirmed separately by the concessionaire and relevant authorities.
Marinedi's official Chiavari marina page supplies information on the existing facility and is the source of the archival photograph accompanying this article. That image depicts the marina itself and is not presented as a photograph of newly completed expansion infrastructure.
