Metstrade Expands 2026 Startup Programme with Superyacht Focus

Metstrade 2026 and Yachting Ventures expanded their startup programme for 2026, creating two dedicated areas for early-stage marine businesses. A total of 24 startups were planned, with 16 places in the main Metstrade Startup Area and eight in a dedicated Superyacht Startup Area.

A dedicated superyacht startup presence

The Superyacht Startup Area was positioned as part of the show's expanding superyacht environment, giving emerging companies access to shipyards, owner representatives and senior industry decision-makers. The programme was designed to focus particularly on technologies connected with digitalisation, yacht operations and sustainability.

Yachting Ventures was appointed to curate the participating companies and provide access to its wider network of investors, customers and industry partners. The main Startup Area was also scheduled to return in Hall 5, concentrating early-stage equipment and technology companies in a dedicated innovation environment.

Closer links with the Superyacht Forum

The 2026 programme also strengthened the connection between participating startups and The Superyacht Forum. Startups selected for the superyacht area were expected to gain opportunities to engage with the Forum and contribute to content discussions around emerging technologies.

A live pitching event was also included in the programme, giving selected businesses the opportunity to present directly to investors and industry specialists. Metstrade said participating startups would additionally be eligible to enter the DAME Design Awards without paying an entry fee.
