Monaco's Future of Refit Show Sets 31 March–2 April 2027

Informa Prestige has set 31 March to 2 April 2027 for The Future of Refit, a professional superyacht gathering at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. Unlike a broad yacht exhibition, the event is designed around refit, refurbishment and maintenance, with an accompanying display of refitted yachts at the Yacht Club de Monaco marina.

A dedicated platform for existing superyachts

The organiser says the three-day event will combine an industry exhibition with conferences, interactive case studies and access to yachts that have undergone refit work. The spring timing places the programme near the start of the Mediterranean operating season, when owners and managers are reviewing maintenance priorities and the results of winter yard periods. Refit is not merely a cosmetic service: a large yacht may need structural inspections, machinery upgrades, interior renewal, communications work and changing environmental compliance measures within one technically coordinated period. A purpose-built gathering gives yards, designers, engineers and managers a common place to address how those projects are planned and delivered.

Refit Live links design with engineering

A planned Refit Live programme will bring owners, designers, yards and specialists into roundtables, workshops, case studies and a designer masterclass. These formats matter because a proposal that looks straightforward on a rendering can become difficult once the existing structure and machinery of a yacht are measured. Changes to one space may have consequences for stability, fire protection, circulation or technical access elsewhere. Showing completed refits on the water offers a useful complement to conference presentations: visitors can examine outcomes rather than rely solely on before-and-after publicity. Why the lifecycle market is growing

The organiser attributes refit demand to an expanding and ageing yacht fleet, more complex onboard systems, pressure on new-build delivery slots and evolving environmental expectations. These are credible drivers, but the dollar value and growth estimates published in its promotional material are industry estimates rather than audited data for every shipyard. Owners generally approach major work through a condition survey, class and flag requirements, a realistic tendering process and agreement on the yacht's planned operating timetable. Availability of dock space and skilled specialists can be more decisive than a high-level market projection when a project has a fixed charter or family season.

The yacht's calendar must come first

Managers considering attendance can use the event to meet suppliers, review emerging techniques and compare project approaches, but should not postpone necessary maintenance while waiting for a conference. A major refit requires staged decisions on scope, budgets, spares, long-lead equipment and commissioning. The Yacht Club de Monaco's marina is expected to host the on-water component, giving the industry an opportunity to assess a finished yacht close to the exhibition.
