OceanLED has expanded warranty coverage to five years on several underwater-light ranges purchased from 1 October 2026, adding longer manufacturer support for yacht installations.

Marine-lighting specialist OceanLED has introduced a five-year limited warranty covering selected underwater-light ranges purchased from 1 October 2026. The change applies to X-Series, Sport Series, Discover D3 and SPORT Mini products, extending the support period available to owners, yards and installers using these systems.

Five-year coverage starts with October purchases

OceanLED states that qualifying X-Series, Sport Series and Discover D3 underwater lights purchased from 1 October 2026 are now covered by a five-year limited warranty. The policy also applies to any SPORT Mini underwater light bought within the new eligibility period.

The longer term moves beyond the company’s general two- or three-year manufacturer warranty structure for many products. For yacht owners and refit teams, that can change lifecycle calculations because replacement risk extends well beyond the initial installation and commissioning period.

Coverage focuses on manufacturing defects

Under the published terms, OceanLED may replace a defective product or component when a failure is attributed to faulty materials, manufacturing or workmanship under normal use and service. Claims still require the troubleshooting, serial-number and proof-of-purchase information specified in the company’s warranty process.

That distinction matters because extended warranty duration does not remove normal installation and operating responsibilities. Correct mounting, electrical protection, maintenance and compliance with product instructions remain important if an owner expects long-term manufacturer support for underwater lighting equipment.

Underwater lighting is a lifecycle equipment decision

Underwater lights operate in an environment that combines continuous immersion, corrosion exposure, vibration and electrical demand. On larger yachts, installations can include multiple fixtures across the transom and hull, so replacement work may involve haul-out access or diver support as well as the cost of individual components.

A longer manufacturer warranty therefore has practical value beyond the retail price of a single light. It can reduce uncertainty around equipment that is integrated into a yacht’s exterior architecture and may be difficult to reach once the vessel has returned to normal cruising.

Sport Series illustrates the supported product range

OceanLED’s Sport Series uses marine-grade aluminium bronze construction, IP69K water-ingress protection and integrated drivers, with output reaching up to 6,000 fixture lumens depending on model. The range is designed for surface mounting and is one of the product families included in the revised warranty structure.

For builders and refit yards, warranty policy can become another procurement factor alongside output, colour control, installation dimensions and service access. OceanLED’s change gives specifiers a longer formal support period when comparing underwater-lighting systems for new-build and refit projects.
