Trieste Shipyards Established With Plans for 80m Superyacht Construction

Samer Group has announced the formation of Trieste Shipyards Srl, a venture intended to develop superyacht construction, maintenance and storage in the industrial port of Trieste. The company was established by Samer's Seadock subsidiary and Yachting Expertise, with participation from regional investment company Friulia.

The announcement confirms the corporate project, but the proposed new facilities should not be described as already completed. The partners are seeking to bring existing industrial, technical and logistics experience together within a wider regional yachting supply chain.

A 3,000m² hangar and an 80m ambition

Samer describes the first phase as a hangar of around 3,000 square metres, with the fully developed yard intended to permit construction of yachts up to 80 metres in length. These figures describe planned infrastructure and eventual capability, not the dimensions of a new yacht order or a facility already in full operation.

Construction, repair and storage require different combinations of lifting equipment, protected workspace, access to quays and specialist subcontractors.
