VBH Brings AI-Enhanced Five-Sense Yacht Technology to Monaco 2026

VBH will bring an AI-enhanced immersive technology environment to the Monaco Yacht Show 2026, combining audiovisual, IT, control, lighting and security systems into a single adaptive onboard experience. The company says the installation is designed to show how yacht technology can respond more naturally to owner preferences and changing onboard conditions.

The showcase goes beyond a conventional equipment display. VBH is presenting two connected spaces that use light, sound, fragrance, imagery and other sensory inputs to demonstrate how integrated systems can shape the atmosphere of a yacht rather than operating as isolated technical layers.

AI moves into the integration layer

At the centre of the demonstration is an intelligent integration layer developed by VBH engineers. The company says it connects onboard systems and uses in-house yachting large language models to interpret context and preferences, allowing equipment to respond more proactively than traditional preset automation.

For owners and designers, that points toward a different approach to onboard control. Instead of treating AV, lighting, climate-related interfaces, security and other systems as separate products, the integration layer is intended to make them behave as one coordinated environment.

Five senses form part of the Monaco demonstration

The Monaco programme includes a Design Immersive Experience created with designers and shipyards, alongside a SENSE by VBH environment where lighting, sound, visuals, scent and other elements change according to visitor preferences. Six invitation-only sessions will explore taste, touch, vision, scent, hearing and intelligence.

The technology itself is more important than the theatrical presentation. Superyacht interiors increasingly depend on complex digital infrastructure, and the ability to orchestrate systems reliably while keeping the user interface simple is becoming a significant part of both new-build and refit design.

From automation to adaptive yacht environments

VBH has worked on more than 350 superyacht and residential projects and says its Monaco installation reflects a broader move toward adaptive digital environments. The company will exhibit in the Designers Gallery at stand LC12 from 23 to 26 September.

The Monaco presentation should provide a useful indication of how AI is being applied inside real yacht-integration systems rather than as a standalone software feature. For captains, owners and technical teams, the practical questions will be reliability, cybersecurity, maintainability and how much decision-making should be delegated to adaptive automation.
