The 27.6m Horizon FD90-series motor yacht AQUA LIFE has sold in an Ocean Independence in-house transaction after being marketed with a last known $6.295m asking price.

A Horizon motor yacht changes ownership

The 27.6-metre motor yacht AQUA LIFE has been reported sold through an in-house Ocean Independence brokerage transaction. SuperYacht Times identifies Chris Collins and Bob Friscia as representing the purchaser and seller respectively, in news dated 14 October.

The yacht was produced by Horizon Yachts in Taiwan and belongs to the FD90 family, whose high-volume layout is intended to provide substantial guest accommodation in a relatively compact overall length. Published listings refer to a 2019 delivery or 2020 model year, making exact build and registration documents the proper reference.

The last known public asking price was USD 6.295 million, but that is not the final sale consideration. Owners and market analysts should be careful to distinguish a listing price from an agreed transaction amount, which has not been disclosed in the reporting.

FD90 architecture and five-stateroom arrangement

The yacht’s exterior was designed by Cor D. Rover Design, while Horizon developed the naval architecture and interior arrangement. The model is known for a broad superstructure and a high-volume interior intended to provide useful amenities without an excessively long hull.

Fleet data gives an enclosed volume of approximately 187 gross tonnes and a five-stateroom configuration, with an owner’s suite on the main deck. Brokers also describe a VIP cabin, additional queen cabins and a convertible twin, though the exact guest and berth totals should be taken from the certified arrangement of this individual yacht.

Multiple decks offer a range of dining and entertaining locations, creating opportunities for private cruising in warm climates and more sheltered regions. Practical details such as guest privacy, access to side decks and engine-room servicing remain important even where the layout feels generous.

Twin MTU diesels and cruising characteristics

AQUA LIFE is equipped with twin MTU engines, with published specifications citing a cruising speed of approximately ten knots and a maximum of seventeen knots. This gives the owner flexibility between a more economical passage and a faster transit when conditions and mechanical capability permit.

The existing broker descriptions also refer to zero-speed stabilisation, electronic monitoring systems, a water maker and a hydraulic swim platform. Those systems can materially affect the comfort of cruising but should be assessed through maintenance records and operational tests rather than assumed to function perfectly.

Owners evaluating a five-to-seven-year-old yacht may look for evidence of consistent maintenance and prompt repair of defects. A vessel maintained by a professional crew can benefit from orderly records, but that must still be confirmed by independent specialists.

A sale in the high-volume 25-to-30-metre sector

The Horizon FD90 line sits in the market for vessels where some owners seek the interior benefits of a larger yacht while remaining below the length of many conventional superyachts. It is a distinctive proposition because usable enclosed volume and accommodation can vary considerably between boats of similar overall length.

The transaction is one data point in a market where price reductions and a greater supply of used yachts have been reported during 2026. Without access to the actual deal value, it cannot establish whether a seller accepted a discount or how large that discount might have been.

For prospective owners, AQUA LIFE illustrates the value of comparing a particular boat’s layout, service record and operating profile with other yachts rather than relying on nominal model names. The reported Ocean Independence transaction is a completed brokerage event, not a new construction announcement.
