Northrop & Johnson has listed the 34.14m Westport BREEZY DAY at $5.95 million following 2026 engine overhauls, running-gear work and a substantial interior renovation.
Northrop & Johnson has added BREEZY DAY, a 34.14-metre Westport motor yacht from 2005, to its sales portfolio with an asking price of USD 5.95 million. The brokerage says the vessel has undergone extensive engineering work during 2026, along with a significant interior-renovation programme.
Brokers Wes Sanford, Sean Doyle and Mike Finnegan are listed as the contacts for the yacht. Buyers considering an older American-built vessel may find the recent work important, although the scale of a refit must always be understood in terms of the specific tasks completed.
An announced maintenance expenditure is not itself proof of current condition or a guarantee of future reliability. Purchasers should request itemised invoices, survey documents, machinery records and an inventory before deciding how the yacht compares with others in her market segment.
The most substantial machinery intervention described by the broker took place in August 2026, when both MTU 16V 2000 M91 engines underwent QL4 overhauls. Each is rated at 2,000 horsepower, and the seller reports zero operating hours since those major-overhaul procedures.
Warranty protection is described as transferable until August 2027, but any buyer should check which components and types of failure are covered and whether transfer requires notification or approval. It is also important to understand the difference between hours since overhaul and the engines’ total lifetime hours.
The July yard period included work on shaft alignment and truing, bearings, seals, and the reconditioning and balancing of propellers. This kind of connected drivetrain work can make a difference to vibration and efficiency, yet an independent sea trial remains the most direct way to evaluate the finished installation.
Northrop & Johnson identifies a USD 750,000 renovation supervised by Thomas Anthony Design, with changes affecting the main saloon, dining room, galley, guest suites and crew areas. The specification describes updated bathrooms, white-oak flooring, quartz finishes and contemporary furnishings.
For a potential buyer, the interior refresh may reduce the immediate desire to replace visible surfaces and furniture. The electrical distribution, air conditioning, water systems and structural condition still require separate examination, since cosmetic improvement cannot establish their remaining service life.
Crew accommodation and working arrangements should also be included in any assessment of refit quality. Long-term private cruising depends on functional galley space, sensible storage and efficient maintenance access as much as on the finished appearance of the guest accommodation.
With a Jack Sarin-designed modified-V hull, BREEZY DAY is advertised with a cruising speed of twenty-one knots and a maximum speed of twenty-five knots. Her reported draft of about 1.68 metres may also interest owners planning shallow-water destinations in South Florida or the Bahamas.
Shallow draft does not eliminate the need for accurate navigation, updated soundings and appropriate clearance for underwater appendages. Likewise, advertised speed should be treated as a reference for assessment rather than a guaranteed outcome at any load or sea state.
The new listing offers a combination of recognised Westport construction, recently overhauled engines and updated interiors. The value to a particular owner will depend on independent technical findings, the legal position of the vessel and the buyer’s intended usage.
