Northrop & Johnson has reduced the asking price of the 47m Mengi Yay SERENISSIMA I by €1.45 million to €28.5 million, citing her private owner’s deck and flexible suites.
Northrop & Johnson has reported a EUR 1.45 million reduction in the advertised asking price of SERENISSIMA I, the 47-metre motor yacht delivered by Mengi Yay in 2024. She is now listed for EUR 28.5 million, with Monaco-based broker Ed Dickinson representing the sale.
The change alters the seller’s public asking figure, but does not provide evidence of an agreed transaction value. Buyers weighing this opportunity against other recently delivered superyachts should consider detailed condition, applicable taxes, location and the included inventory.
The yacht has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with naval architecture by Van Oossanen and interior and exterior design by Nuvolari Lenard. Those are important elements of her pedigree, but a survey of the completed vessel remains the basis for a technical judgment.
A defining feature of SERENISSIMA I is an owner’s suite positioned aft on the bridge deck and connected directly to a private outdoor space. The arrangement includes an en-suite bathroom with sea-view windows and a walk-in wardrobe, according to the broker’s published specification.
The adjoining aft deck provides dining, sunpads and a Jacuzzi, separating some of the owner’s principal leisure facilities from the shared guest areas. That privacy can be attractive during longer cruises or when visitors join the yacht for part of a voyage.
The sundeck contains a second Jacuzzi and additional entertaining space for guests. As with any vessel built around extensive outdoor amenities, the deck plan needs to accommodate safe movement, crew service and stowage when the yacht is under way.
The main saloon and dining room are arranged towards the aft portion of the main deck, with access to a central guest lobby. A separate gentleman’s lounge brings a cinema area, a folding balcony and a walk-in wine cellar into the overall accommodation programme.
An elevator connects the principal interior decks, a feature that may improve movement aboard for certain guests, while also creating equipment that requires inspections and maintenance. Owners should understand both operational limitations and emergency arrangements before deciding how the lift will be used.
Ten guests can be accommodated in five cabins, including the private owner’s suite and four lower-deck guest cabins. Some cabins can be arranged differently, allowing two adjoining aft suites to form a larger VIP area, but the precise practical arrangements should be checked on the vessel.
Northrop & Johnson says SERENISSIMA I was built with commercial coding in mind, so a buyer may also consider her for some form of charter operation. The existence of coding should not be taken to mean unrestricted charter eligibility worldwide, since flag rules, local permits and crew requirements can differ.
The yacht carries additional equipment including a tender garage, crane, beach-club areas, stabilisers and underwater lighting. Each affects the experience aboard but also forms part of the machinery and systems inventory requiring ongoing inspections and maintenance.
With a relatively recent build date and a revised asking figure, SERENISSIMA I offers an interesting combination of pedigree and specialised owner accommodation. Any comparison with other forty-to-fifty-metre yachts should be made using verified specifications, full lifecycle costs and informed professional advice.
