Turquoise Yachts is completing the 42-metre sailing yacht Wildcat using the incomplete hull of a Perini Navi E-volution project. The programme turns an unfinished platform into a fully realised performance cruiser rather than allowing the structure to remain dormant.
Reichel Pugh Yacht Design remains involved with naval architecture, while Turquoise has worked with Southern Spars to refine the sailing system around ease of use and modern operating requirements. The collaboration keeps the performance brief aligned with practical crew operation.
Wildcat carries a 62.5-metre Panamax carbon mast, carbon boom and carbon standing rigging. The yacht’s sail area reaches approximately 2,204 square metres, placing significant demands on control systems and deck hardware.
Harken captive-reel winches and Bamar furlers form part of the sail-handling package. The systems are designed to reduce manual workload while allowing a relatively compact crew to manage a high-performance rig.
The interior by GCA Architects of Barcelona accommodates eight guests in four en-suite cabins, including a full-beam owner’s suite. Crew accommodation is arranged for seven staff across four cabins.
Wildcat also carries a tender garage, hydraulic boarding systems and broad exterior lounging areas. The project gives Turquoise a significant sailing-yacht reference alongside its predominantly motor-yacht portfolio.
