Smart Yachts confirms an in-house sale of 44m MMGI-built BLADE II, following a 2024–25 refit and with both sides represented within the same brokerage.

A two-sided brokerage transaction concludes

Smart Yachts reports the in-house sale of BLADE II, a 44-metre superyacht built in 2009 by the commercial shipyard MMGI. Maria Razumi represented the selling side and Julia Skop introduced the buyer, bringing both parties into a transaction handled through the same brokerage organisation. Neither the final price nor the identity of the new owner was announced.

The sale is noteworthy because the vessel has been extensively modified since her original delivery. For the second-hand superyacht market, a comprehensive refit can change the ownership proposition substantially, but individual buyers still need to distinguish recent upgrades from underlying machinery and structure that may be older.

A major refit reshaped the living spaces

The brokerage describes a multimillion-dollar refit programme carried out during 2024 and 2025. Interior design associated with Riccardo Solari gives the accommodation a minimalist character, with Scandinavian influences, pale finishes and unusually tall ceilings reported at around 2.2 metres in some spaces.

Five guest cabins have ensuite bathrooms, including a full-beam principal suite with generous glazing. These dimensions may make the yacht feel larger than a comparable hull with lower deckheads, although guest comfort also depends on ventilation, noise control and service routes. A refit description does not identify every electrical or structural intervention completed during the work.

A tender garage and shallow draft offer different advantages

BLADE II is advertised with a draft of approximately 1.6 metres, potentially useful for selected shallow-water cruising destinations such as parts of the Bahamas. The bow features a garage sized for a tender of around seven metres, a distinctive choice that leaves the stern and beach-club area more available for recreation.

Tender handling is an operational matter as well as a design feature. Recovery systems, weather limits and safe guest transfers require review by the captain and engineers. Draft figures likewise need confirmation at the vessel's actual load condition and do not imply that navigation in any shallow channel is automatically safe.

The new owner inherits a changed technical platform

A buyer of a refitted yacht should request the complete scope of work, project invoices and inspection records, especially where substantial money was spent in a relatively short period. Classification certificates, engine hours and system maintenance can help determine whether the finished result supports the cruising programme envisioned by the new owner.

The announcement confirms an in-house sale and describes the significant 2024–25 transformation. It does not publish a formal valuation, detailed survey results or future charter plans. Those limits matter when treating BLADE II as evidence of broader demand for modernised classic superyachts.
