47m Sanlorenzo BIG SHARK Offered for Sale at €31 Million

G-Yachts is offering the 47-metre Sanlorenzo 500EXP BIG SHARK for sale at €31 million ex VAT, with the yacht currently appearing in the Monaco Yacht Show 2026 fleet. Delivered in 2024, the steel-and-aluminium explorer combines a 499GT internal volume with a long-range specification aimed at extended cruising.

BIG SHARK sits in one of the most competitive parts of the explorer market because her size keeps her below 500GT while still providing the machinery, storage and guest accommodation expected from a larger displacement yacht. The relatively recent delivery date also gives buyers a current-generation Sanlorenzo platform without the wait attached to a new 500EXP order.

A 5,800-nautical-mile range supports genuine expedition use

Twin Caterpillar C32 ACERT engines provide a quoted cruising speed of 12.5 knots and a maximum of 15 knots, while G-Yachts lists a 5,800-nautical-mile range at 11 knots. That range gives the yacht the ability to plan ocean passages and remote itineraries rather than functioning only as a Mediterranean or short-range coastal explorer.

Naiad hydraulic stabilisers, a 110kW bow thruster and a 7.5-tonne Heila crane support the operating profile. The crane and deck arrangement allow BIG SHARK to carry a substantial tender and water toys, which is a central part of making an explorer platform useful away from established marina infrastructure.

Five cabins accommodate up to 12 guests

The accommodation is arranged across five staterooms, including a full-beam main-deck master, two double VIP cabins and two twin cabins with Pullman berths. The owner's study can also be returned to its original configuration as a sixth stateroom, giving the layout additional flexibility if future ownership requirements change.

Studio Indigo created the interiors, while Sanlorenzo developed the exterior lines and naval architecture for the 500EXP series. The dark-grey exterior finish gives BIG SHARK a more purposeful appearance than many conventional white displacement yachts while retaining the familiar Sanlorenzo proportions.

€31m provides a current benchmark for a near-new 500EXP

The asking price places BIG SHARK against both older northern-European explorers and newer Italian displacement yachts around the same length. Buyers will be weighing age, range, equipment and Sanlorenzo build pedigree against the cost and delivery time of commissioning another yacht with comparable capability.

Her current presence in Monaco allows prospective buyers to inspect the yacht directly during the industry's largest sales week. The eventual transaction price, if disclosed, will provide a useful measure of how the market values a two-year-old 500EXP with a full long-range specification.
