Burgess has opened a Newport Beach office, giving the superyacht services group a permanent base in Southern California and its fifth US location.
Burgess has opened an office in Newport Beach, Orange County, expanding its United States network to five locations. The new base places the brokerage and superyacht-services group close to Southern California marinas, yacht clubs and a client market that has traditionally been served from other US offices.
The Newport Beach team will provide brokerage, charter, yacht management, new-construction and advisory services. Clients will also be able to draw on Burgess’s wider international network for transactions, technical projects and operational support that cross national or regional boundaries.
California is an important yachting market in its own right and also serves as a gateway to Mexico, the Pacific Northwest and longer Pacific cruising routes. A permanent office gives Burgess a local platform for owners and prospective buyers who may not be operating primarily in the traditional Florida and Northeast US superyacht centres.
The company now operates 19 offices worldwide, with the Newport Beach opening adding another point of direct contact in a market where brokerage, charter planning and yacht-management relationships often depend on long-term local presence. Burgess has not disclosed staffing numbers or financial investment for the new location.
Large brokerage houses increasingly combine global reach with smaller regional teams positioned close to concentrations of owners, marinas and service infrastructure. That model allows client relationships to remain local while technical, legal, charter and transaction support is coordinated across a broader international organisation.
For Burgess, Newport Beach strengthens coverage of the western United States without changing the company’s wider service model. The practical test will be how effectively the office converts local relationships into brokerage, charter, management and new-build activity across the Pacific-facing market.
