CLP2 has become majority shareholder of explorer-yacht builder Cantiere delle Marche, completing a planned ownership transition while the existing executive team remains invested.

Cantiere delle Marche has completed a planned shareholder transition that makes CLP2 the majority owner of the Italian explorer-yacht builder. FIL BROS has exited its holding, while Vasco Buonpensiere and Ennio Cecchini remain minority shareholders and continue their executive leadership roles at the yard.

The change completes a previously planned process

Cantiere delle Marche says the transaction follows the ownership path established when CLP2 first entered the business rather than representing an unexpected sale. FIL BROS has now completed its exit after supporting the yard through a period of substantial growth in the explorer-yacht market.

That continuity is significant for clients because large custom-yacht projects extend across several years. An orderly shareholder transition can preserve management, supplier relationships and contractual confidence while still giving the company a different long-term capital structure.

The existing leadership remains invested in the yard

Vasco Buonpensiere and Ennio Cecchini retain minority shareholdings alongside their executive roles, keeping the operational leadership financially connected with the company. CdM has built much of its market identity around that management team's focus on robust displacement and explorer yachts.

Maintaining those roles reduces the risk that a change in majority ownership immediately changes product direction or client relationships. Owners with yachts already under construction can therefore expect more continuity than would accompany a full management replacement.

CLP2 backs the current four-year business plan

The new majority shareholder says it remains committed to the four-year plan already under way, which CdM reports is ahead of projections across key indicators. The yard also describes itself as having a full order book, a strengthened team and the financial solidity to pursue further development.

CLP2 combines interests associated with the Loro Piana family and Carisma, the family office of Giovanni Cagnoli. That ownership structure brings long-term private capital into a shipyard whose product cycle requires patient investment rather than rapid quarterly returns.

The transition arrives during a busy period for CdM

Cantiere delle Marche continues to build and deliver explorer yachts while expanding the depth of its sales and technical organisation. The ownership change therefore takes place against an active production schedule rather than during a restructuring caused by weak demand.

The practical test will be whether new capital supports capacity, staff and product development without weakening the yard's established engineering character. For owners, stable leadership and delivery performance will matter more than the shareholder names once projects move through construction.
