D-Marin has opened Marina Livorno to superyachts, extending its Italian footprint alongside recent additions in Sardinia and creating a broader regional network.

D-Marin has opened Marina Livorno to superyachts, strengthening its presence in Italy and expanding the options available to owners, captains and yacht managers moving between mainland cruising grounds, Sardinia and the French Riviera. The announcement was made during the 66th Genoa International Boat Show.

Italy has become D-Marin’s largest regional market

D-Marin says its Italian portfolio has expanded from one marina in 2023 to eight destinations, making Italy the largest regional market in the group’s network. Marina Livorno joins recent additions including Marina di Olbia and Molo Brin in Sardinia.

The strategy is designed to give yacht owners and operators a more connected network across key Mediterranean cruising routes. Rather than treating each marina as a standalone destination, D-Marin is building clusters that allow clients to move between ports while retaining a consistent level of service and digital support.

Livorno adds a mainland superyacht gateway

Opening Marina Livorno to larger yachts gives D-Marin a stronger position on the Tuscan coast, with direct access to central Mediterranean itineraries and proximity to established superyacht cruising grounds. The port also sits within reach of major refit, shipyard and supply infrastructure.

For captains, a mainland Italian option can simplify logistics around provisioning, crew changes, technical support and onward cruising. The value of a marina network increases when berthing can be coordinated with practical operational services rather than viewed only as a destination stop.

Sardinia remains part of the expansion strategy

D-Marin’s recent additions of Marina di Olbia and Molo Brin strengthen its presence in Sardinia, one of the Mediterranean’s most important seasonal superyacht markets. Together with Livorno, the new locations create greater flexibility for yachts moving between the island, mainland Italy and the wider western Mediterranean.

The group says customers can expect the same emphasis on hospitality, smart technology and service standards across the network. That consistency is becoming increasingly important for owners who expect marina experiences to match the quality and efficiency of other luxury travel infrastructure.

Marina networks are becoming more strategic for superyachts

The Livorno move reflects a broader change in the marina sector as operators build regional portfolios rather than relying on single high-profile locations. For superyachts, that can create practical advantages in berth planning, account management, digital services and seasonal route flexibility.

For Superyacht Guide readers, D-Marin’s Italian expansion is significant because it increases competition in a market where premium berthing capacity remains constrained during peak periods. A larger connected network gives owners and captains more options while encouraging marinas to compete on service quality as well as location.
