Feadship has revealed the 49.50-metre Project 717 as the yacht left the construction hall at its Aalsmeer facility. The first exterior appearance gives a clearer view of the proportions developed by Studio De Voogt for a yacht designed to maximise usable deck space without visually stretching the profile.
The sun deck uses broadened shoulders to balance the yacht’s length and volume. On the main deck, fold-down bulwarks are intended to create a larger beach atmosphere and open uninterrupted views over the water.
The interior was developed by Marty Lowe in close cooperation with the owner and the shipyard. Accommodation is arranged for ten guests across five staterooms, including a full-beam owner’s suite with panoramic views, a private study and a separate dressing area.
The design brief combines relatively compact overall length with spaces intended to feel considerably larger when the yacht is opened to its surroundings. That makes circulation, glazing and convertible exterior areas especially important to the way the project works.
Project 717 uses Feadship’s Advanced Electrical Drive approach for propulsion and steering. The system forms part of a broader effort to improve machinery integration and operational efficiency without changing the owner-facing character of the yacht.
The yacht will progress through commissioning and sea trials before delivery. Her emergence from the hall marks the transition from enclosed construction into the final stages where performance, systems and onboard comfort can be tested together.
