Ferretti Group has introduced its Quality Promise programme, adding one year of limited coverage beyond the standard warranty for eligible yachts up to 45m.

Ferretti Group has introduced a new “Quality Promise” programme that adds an extra year of limited coverage after the standard warranty for eligible yachts up to 45 metres. The programme applies to qualifying contracts signed from 1 September 2026 and is intended to extend protection on key engineering and onboard systems.

The announcement is notable because warranty terms are an important but often overlooked part of yacht ownership cost and risk. An additional year can have real value during the period when a yacht has accumulated meaningful operating hours but is still early in its ownership cycle, although the precise benefit always depends on the contractual terms and exclusions.

Coverage focuses on technical systems

Ferretti Group says the supplementary year is focused on engineering and onboard systems rather than cosmetic matters. The company excludes aesthetic defects from the programme, so owners should not interpret the extra year as a blanket extension covering every possible defect or appearance-related issue.

The group also links eligibility to scheduled maintenance through its official service network. That condition is important because warranty protection commonly depends on evidence that maintenance intervals, authorised procedures and required inspections have been followed throughout the relevant period.

The programme applies to yachts up to 45 metres

The published scope reaches yachts up to 45 metres, covering a substantial portion of Ferretti Group's composite-yacht range. The company states that aluminium and steel units are excluded, which means the programme should be assessed against the construction type and individual purchase contract rather than yacht length alone.

For buyers, the practical step is to obtain the full written warranty terms before relying on the headline duration. Coverage limits, excluded components, owner obligations, geographic service arrangements and the procedure for making a claim can all affect how useful an extended warranty is in practice.

Warranty terms can affect ownership planning

Superyacht warranties are particularly relevant to budgeting because failures in propulsion, electrical, HVAC, navigation and other onboard systems can be expensive even on comparatively new yachts. Extended manufacturer-backed protection may reduce some of that exposure, but it does not replace planned maintenance, insurance or an owner's reserve for items outside warranty scope.

The new programme also gives prospective buyers another factor to compare when considering competing new yachts. Build quality, after-sales response, parts availability and the clarity of warranty administration are often as important as the nominal duration printed in sales material.

Contracts from September 2026 are the starting point

Ferretti Group identifies 1 September 2026 as the contract-date threshold for the Quality Promise. Owners considering a purchase should therefore confirm eligibility directly against their contract and yacht specification rather than assume that every recently delivered yacht automatically receives the additional year.

For market intelligence, the programme is a useful example of builders competing not only on yacht design and performance but also on lifecycle support. As warranty and service packages become more prominent, their actual terms will deserve the same scrutiny as asking prices, maintenance budgets and resale support.
