First Benetti B.Neos 40M Full-Hybrid Superyacht Sold for 2028 Delivery

First B.Neos 40M secures an owner

Benetti has sold the first B.Neos 40M full-hybrid superyacht, with the 40.6-metre yacht scheduled for delivery in spring 2028. Manuele Thiella, chief executive of Royal Yacht International, represented the buyer in the transaction.

Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design is responsible for the exterior architecture, while Francesca Muzio of FM Architettura created the interior. The project was conceived around a hybrid engineering platform rather than adding electrification after the basic yacht had already been designed.

MAN hybrid system supports several operating modes

Twin MAN V8-800 engines are combined with a MAN Smart Hybrid system. The arrangement supports Zero-Emission and Hotel modes for quiet low-speed or at-anchor operation, alongside diesel-electric, crossover and boost modes for different power requirements.

Benetti says the system can reduce fuel consumption and emissions by up to 30% compared with a conventional yacht of similar size. Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design lists a projected range of approximately 2,600 nautical miles at 10 knots.

Interior concept reduces barriers between guest spaces

FM Architettura has developed the interior around what Benetti describes as evolved simplicity. The main deck runs from stern to bow with fewer structural interruptions between principal guest zones, strengthening sightlines and movement between interior and exterior spaces.

The sale gives Benetti a first commercial test for a model that combines a different design language with a more ambitious energy system. Construction progress toward 2028 will show how the hybrid package is integrated into the final yacht and how much of the projected efficiency is realised in service.
