Fraser's current 2026 newbuild brief identifies more than 600 yachts above 30 metres under construction and places the average build length at 48.5 metres.

Fraser's published 2026 newbuild analysis puts the global pipeline at more than 600 yachts measuring over 30 metres, with an average build length of 48.5 metres. The brokerage's report is an industry snapshot, not a count independently compiled by Superyacht Guide and not an announcement that all the projects started today.

Large yachts account for a growing share of volume

Fraser's newbuild analysis draws attention to the scale of vessels now being constructed, including 26 projects measuring more than 100 metres. The firm says those very large builds together account for more than 160,000 GT.

That mix makes raw hull totals an incomplete picture of shipyard workload. A small number of complex custom yachts can involve substantially different engineering, outfitting and delivery requirements from a comparable number of shorter series-built vessels.

Italy leads the published country comparison

The briefing identifies Italy as the leading build nation by volume, accounting for more than 55 percent of yachts under construction. Fraser lists Türkiye with 90 projects and the Netherlands with 52, describing distinct positions in the production market.

These figures belong to the reporting period and definitions used by Fraser, and should not be read as a live order-book reconciliation across every yard. They remain useful for understanding where newbuild capacity and supporting supply chains are concentrated.

Long lead times shape the owner decision

Fraser says major yards are operating at high capacity and that lead times remain lengthy, especially for the upper end of custom construction. For a buyer, the difference between an available in-build yacht and a new design slot can therefore be commercially significant.

The same report notes continuing demand for both custom and semi-custom projects. Owner representatives must still verify the individual hull's build stage, specification, contractual delivery window and scope of personalisation before relying on a broad market description.

A benchmark rather than a daily sales tally

Fraser introduced its Global Superyacht Market 2026 report in March, drawing on analysis by its own business-intelligence specialists. Its market overview spans newbuilds, sales, brokerage, charter and ownership patterns, providing context for its present newbuild briefing.

Superyacht Guide treats the brokerage's figures as attributed company research, not as verified September transaction totals. The current article isolates construction-market findings rather than repeating individual yacht-sale announcements or turning forecast delivery dates into completed handovers.
