Heesen Christens 55m Pa’lante in Rotterdam Ahead of Mediterranean Season

Project Frida becomes Pa’lante after christening in Rotterdam

Heesen has formally christened the 55-metre motor yacht Pa’lante at Hotel New York in Rotterdam. The yacht was previously known during construction as YN 21055 Project Frida and has now taken the name selected by her owners for her operational life.

The name Pa’lante reflects an idea of encouragement and moving forward, replacing the Nordic-derived project name used by the yard. The ceremony followed successful North Sea trials and marked the transition from speculative construction project to an owner’s yacht.

760 GT platform uses Heesen’s Ultra Efficient Steel Hull

Pa’lante is built on Heesen’s Ultra Efficient Steel Hull platform and encloses approximately 760 GT. The yard says the hull form benefits from operational information gathered across a fleet of more than 200 delivered yachts.

Exterior design is by Omega Architects, while Luca Dini Design and Architecture created the bespoke interior with Heesen’s in-house engineering team. Dark woods and lighter finishes provide the background for an owner-selected contemporary art collection.

Sea trials clear the yacht for her first Mediterranean season

Heesen says Pa’lante met Lloyd’s Register requirements during sea trials in the North Sea. The yacht will now begin her first Mediterranean season before appearing publicly in the autumn show calendar.

The christening also illustrates Heesen’s strategy of beginning selected yachts before a buyer is secured, reducing the waiting period for owners who do not want a fully bespoke multi-year construction programme. Pa’lante combines that timing advantage with extensive interior personalisation completed after the owners joined the project.
