Bilgin Yachts’ 82m Project BOND is taking shape with a highly personalised H2 Yacht Design interior created around extended cruising, comfort and life on board.
Bilgin Yachts’ 82-metre Project BOND is developing into more than a larger successor to the Turkish builder’s established 80-metre platform. With the yacht under development as Bilgin’s flagship, the project combines the yard’s large-yacht capability with an interior programme shaped closely around how owners John and Jeanette Staluppi intend to live on board.
H2 Yacht Design is responsible for the interior, while Unique Yacht Design is handling the exterior styling and naval architecture. Bilgin describes BOND as an evolution of its 80-metre family, enlarged and adapted to deliver greater volume, natural light and long-range cruising capability.
H2 Yacht Design says the interior is being developed in close collaboration with Jeanette Staluppi, with the design shaped around the owners’ lifestyle rather than a fixed studio house style. The studio’s brief emphasises natural light, seamless transitions between interior and exterior spaces, and an atmosphere intended to feel intuitive and comfortable as well as visually refined.
The process extends from spatial planning and material selection through to detailed visualisation and construction development. H2 says its team remains closely involved throughout that process so that the original design intent can be maintained while meeting the technical demands of an 82-metre modern superyacht.
Project BOND develops the engineering foundation established by Bilgin’s 80-metre series rather than starting from an unrelated platform. Bilgin positions the 82-metre Bilgin 270 as the next evolution of that family, with larger windows, additional glazing in the forward bulwarks and an updated general arrangement intended to strengthen the connection between the interior and the sea.
The published specification lists a 14.50-metre beam, 3.60-metre draught and gross tonnage of 2,150 GT. H2 gives a range of about 5,000 nautical miles and a top speed of 17.5 knots, with the project engineered to combine worldwide cruising capability with access to shallower cruising grounds important to the American market.
BOND also continues John Staluppi’s long-running association with James Bond-inspired yacht names. H2 says the tradition spans 18 yachts, giving the new project an identity closely associated with the owner rather than simply with its Bilgin hull designation.
That personal history is reflected in the design process, where H2 describes the interior as a direct expression of the client’s lifestyle and vision. FGI Yacht Group records that Simon Graham represented buyer John Staluppi in the BILGIN 82M Project BOND transaction, adding another established project partner to the build team.
For Bilgin, Project BOND extends the yard’s position in the 80-metre-plus custom-yacht sector and is presented by the builder as its flagship project. Unique Yacht Design’s exterior and naval architecture, together with H2’s bespoke interior, build on a platform Bilgin has already developed through its previous 80-metre yachts while pushing the design toward greater volume and glazing.
The project remains under development, so its final completed interior will only be judged once the yacht is finished. What is already clear from the official design material is that BOND is being shaped around a combination of long-range capability, owner-led customisation and a close relationship between interior architecture and the surrounding sea.
