Orion Yachts Delivers 44m Orion One, Marking Debut Superyacht for the Yard

Orion Yachts has delivered the 44-metre Orion One, marking a major milestone for the Turkish shipyard as its first completed superyacht enters service. The yacht combines exterior and interior design by RED Yacht Design with naval architecture by Alfa Marine Design, bringing together a project team that has worked on the vessel from its earliest stages.

Built below 500GT, Orion One was conceived around generous living spaces, a strong relationship with the sea and a contemporary profile intended to establish a recognisable identity for the new yard. Following delivery, the yacht is expected to begin her first operational season in the Mediterranean.

A debut superyacht for Orion Yachts

As the first superyacht delivered by Orion Yachts, Orion One carries significance beyond the completion of an individual build. The project establishes an initial reference point for the shipyard and demonstrates the design and construction direction it intends to present as its fleet develops.

RED Yacht Design describes the exterior through clean horizontal lines, balanced proportions and a confident silhouette rather than elaborate surface treatment. Large glazed areas are integrated throughout the superstructure, visually reducing its mass while allowing interior spaces to maintain a stronger connection with the surrounding environment.

The yacht uses a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure, while Alfa Marine Design developed the naval architecture. The design combines the substantial platform expected of a yacht in this size range with the restrained profile and expansive guest areas identified in RED's delivery communication.

Exterior and interior developed as one language

RED Yacht Design was responsible for both the exterior and interior, allowing the studio to approach the yacht as a single design exercise rather than separating the two disciplines. The aim was to carry the same visual character from the profile and glazing into the atmosphere and organisation of the accommodation spaces.

Inside, the design uses natural materials, considered detailing and a contemporary palette intended to create a warm environment for extended periods aboard. The studio says the goal was to combine the confidence of the yacht's exterior appearance with interiors that feel calmer, more comfortable and more personal once guests move inside.

This continuity was one of the priorities identified by RED Yacht Design co-founder Cana Gökhan during the delivery announcement. Her comments emphasised the balance between the yacht's exterior presence and a softer onboard atmosphere, reflecting the studio's intention for the two sides of the project to feel directly connected.

Outdoor living strengthens the connection with the sea

Exterior living forms another important part of Orion One's character, with substantial deck spaces arranged for relaxation, entertaining and time close to the water. The design follows the broader trend towards making exterior areas central to daily life aboard rather than treating them simply as circulation or secondary guest spaces.

That emphasis also complements the extensive glazing used throughout the superstructure. By maintaining visual links from the enclosed accommodation to the surrounding sea and then extending guest life onto the decks, the design seeks to create continuity between interior and exterior environments.

RED Yacht Design managing director and co-founder Fatih Sürekli described delivery as particularly rewarding because the studio had been involved from the project's earliest stages. He also highlighted the additional responsibility involved in designing the first yacht for a new shipyard, where the completed vessel can establish an identity that influences the builder's future projects.

Orion One begins her first Mediterranean season

The delivery moves Orion One from construction and commissioning into active operation, with the yacht now due to begin her first Mediterranean season. That transition will provide the first opportunity to see the vessel functioning in the cruising environment around which much of her outdoor and guest experience has been developed.

For RED Yacht Design, Orion One adds another completed vessel to a growing portfolio that spans new-build motor yachts, refits and larger concept projects. For Orion Yachts, however, the milestone is more fundamental because the yacht becomes the first completed representative of the shipyard on the water.

Orion One therefore arrives with two roles: she is a new 44-metre yacht entering Mediterranean service and the debut superyacht of a new builder. The delivery closes the first chapter of the project while giving Orion Yachts a physical reference from which to develop the next stage of its superyacht programme.
