SAMOS Brings ZTAB, Electric Handling and HULL VANE® Technology to Genoa
SAMOS is using Genoa 2026 to present new motion-control, electric-handling and hydrodynamic technologies aimed at larger yachts and superyacht projects.
Teledyne Raymarine has introduced the CAM400, a compact full-HD marine IP camera designed to feed day and night video directly to compatible Axiom displays.
Teledyne Raymarine has launched the CAM400, a compact marine IP camera intended to extend onboard visibility through compatible Axiom chartplotters. The full-HD unit supports day and night monitoring and is aimed at locations such as aft decks, swim platforms, side decks, machinery spaces and reversing blind spots.
The CAM400 is designed to send live video into the existing Axiom display environment rather than requiring a completely separate monitoring screen. That lets a helm station combine chartplotter information with views of areas that are difficult to see directly from the driving position.
Raymarine identifies cockpits, aft decks, bathing platforms, side decks and utility spaces among the intended monitoring locations. On a larger yacht, the same principle can support bridge awareness around guest movement, tender operations and restricted sightlines during close-quarters manoeuvring.
The camera provides full-HD imagery and is designed for both daylight and low-light use, extending its usefulness beyond fair-weather daytime navigation. A reliable night view can be particularly valuable when reversing, checking deck activity or monitoring an area during an overnight passage.
A camera should supplement rather than replace direct lookout, radar, AIS and established bridge procedures. Video can add useful context, but safe navigation still depends on multiple independent information sources and properly trained watchkeepers making the final operational decisions.
Using an IP connection allows the camera to integrate into a networked marine electronics environment, where compatible displays can call up the feed as required. That approach can reduce the need for dedicated proprietary monitors and makes the camera easier to incorporate into an existing Raymarine installation.
Installation quality remains important because camera position, network design, power supply and field of view determine whether the resulting picture is actually useful. On a refit, cable routing and compatibility with the yacht's current electronics should be assessed before equipment is added.
Raymarine markets CAM400 for motorboats, sailing yachts, commercial craft and responder vessels, giving the product a broad operating range. The underlying use case also applies to superyachts, where bridge teams increasingly rely on distributed cameras to understand activity around a much larger hull.
The 30 September launch expands Raymarine's current Axiom ecosystem rather than replacing radar or navigation sensors. Superyacht Guide records it as a marine-electronics product introduction with potential applications in new-build and refit monitoring systems.
