Robosys has integrated VOYAGER AI with FarSounder forward-looking sonar, combining autonomous navigation with real-time underwater hazard detection for yachts.
Robosys Automation has integrated its VOYAGER AI autonomous-navigation software with FarSounder forward-looking sonar. The combination feeds three-dimensional seabed and underwater-obstacle information into the navigation platform alongside its route planning and collision-avoidance functions.
The companies say the integration can improve situational awareness in poorly charted waters, remote anchorages and complex coastal areas where conventional charts and echo sounders may not provide a complete picture. VOYAGER AI can use the sonar information as part of its navigation decision-support framework.
Robosys positions VOYAGER AI for advanced superyachts as well as commercial and autonomous craft. FarSounder’s existing 3D sonar technology adds subsurface detection to a platform already designed to integrate propulsion, thrusters and other navigation systems.
