Local government approves lengthening of Hall 2 and Advanced Composites Hall. Also, additional offices are built for engineering, production and owner’s representatives. And there will be improved workshops for the technical and joinery

Two of the world’s ten largest sailing yachts, Athena (90m / 295ft) and Sea Eagle II (81m / 266ft), were built at Royal Huisman’s headquarters in Vollenhove. And the construction of Project 410’s aluminium hull (85m / 280ft) will start in 2023 at the shipyard’s newbuild facilities. The supersized New World Sloop will join the top 10 largest sailing yachts in the world upon delivery.

The yachting industry as a whole has witnessed unprecedented growth over the years. Yachts have become not only larger on average but also increasingly more sophisticated. And with this sophistication also comes a much higher expectation from Royal Huisman clients than ever before. Continuous, long-term investment in the facilities has provided the shipyard with a comprehensive infrastructure that rivals any to be found within the industry. As all of pedigree yachts are fully custom and purpose-built, our talented teams have virtually free rein to create some of the finest superyachts on the oceans.

The shipyard houses exceptional infrastructure, equipment and expertise: a hub for collaboration between the shipyard team and leading specialists. Capacity-wise, the team is now more flexible than ever before, working in close collaboration with selected and highly qualified comakers. These partnering companies work closely together with the shipyard team located in the heart of the Dutch maritime services cluster.

Project 410, aka the 85m New World Sloop, was unveiled in March 2022. This project is currently being engineered in close interaction with the owner, his team and designers. The design is innovative and revolutionary as it is the world’s largest single-masted sailing yacht ever built. To be able to accommodate such a large project, Royal Huisman will expand construction hall 2 and the adjacent buildings. This renewed hall will, of course, match the high standards of the current facilities to meet the very high expectations for Project 410 and future supersized sailing yachts. With this challenging project the shipyard pushes the boundaries of superyacht building once again.
