Baglietto Launches Ninth 52m T52 Superyacht, Hull 10261
The ninth Baglietto T52, identified as hull 10261, has been launched in La Spezia, adding another 52m example to the Italian builder’s displacement range.
Sunseeker has unveiled the 45M semi-displacement yacht concept, combining approximately 440GT, an aft ocean lounge and adaptable upper-deck guest spaces.
Sunseeker has released the first official images and outline specifications of its new 45M Superyacht, a wholly new design in the British builder’s larger-yacht programme. The project was shown at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2026, and the company identifies a signed letter of intent from a longstanding customer. A letter of intent is not the same as a confirmed delivered yacht.
The proposed yacht uses a new semi-displacement hull platform intended for long-range comfort and operational efficiency. Sunseeker places the interior volume at approximately 440 gross tons, a significant space allowance within a forty-five-metre hull. That is a measure of enclosed volume, not the yacht’s mass, and it should not be interpreted as a displacement or range figure.
Sunseeker’s return to larger yacht production began with its established flagship programme. The 45M establishes a further design direction rather than merely extending the dimensions of that vessel. Construction of the first 45M is scheduled for the third quarter of 2027, with delivery anticipated in the second quarter of 2029, subject to the project’s progress.
The preliminary arrangement includes five guest staterooms, with the ability to specify a sixth. That option matters for buyers who must choose between the comfort of fewer, larger cabins and the flexibility of hosting more distinct parties. The builder also provides for up to nine crew, whose circulation and working spaces are central to maintaining reliable service on longer passages.
A particularly prominent feature in the drawings is a large aft ocean lounge, designed to connect guest seating and activity to the water. Above it, a Sky Lounge is conceived as a flexible inside-outside space rather than an area with one fixed role. These characteristics reflect the current design interest in making exterior deck areas as important as formal saloons.
The arrangements remain a proposal ahead of construction. Buyers should ask what can be customised, which openings and furniture elements are included in the base design, and which changes require new engineering. A yacht’s photographed or rendered appearance may not reflect the final specification of a future owner’s vessel.
Sunseeker describes a transverse garage capable of housing a tender and two personal watercraft. Positioning such equipment within the hull can protect exterior guest space while providing a dedicated handling zone. The practicality of the garage depends on the eventual tender’s dimensions, lifting arrangements and operating procedures, not just the nominal number of toys that may fit.
For cruising in remote areas, the tender is often more than an entertainment accessory. It transports guests and supplies, assists shore access and can become essential to daily operations. Owners need to assess launch reliability, crew training, fuel handling and whether a particular tender can be used safely across anticipated conditions.
The semi-displacement approach may offer a useful compromise between passage comfort and flexibility, but specific speed, fuel consumption and endurance figures were not independently established in the initial company release. These should be reviewed once detailed engineering and sea-trial data are available. Owners should not mistake broad efficiency language for contractual performance.
Sunseeker’s stated programme leaves a significant period between the design announcement and the first scheduled construction start. During that time, engineering, supply contracts and owner decisions can influence the final layout. A buyer should treat the expected 2029 handover as a project target, not a completed event, and seek clearly defined milestone provisions in any contract.
The owner’s representative will need to examine noise control, mechanical access, maintainability, fire safety and the separation of guest and crew circulation. These less visible considerations determine how confidently a sophisticated yacht can operate away from its home base. A generous interior volume creates opportunity but also requires careful discipline in the distribution of machinery and accommodation.
The confirmed news is the formal presentation of Sunseeker’s 45M design and the first schedule and accommodation details. Its 440GT platform, adaptable cabins and ocean-facing aft layout give the industry a concrete benchmark for the builder’s next phase. Construction and delivery remain future milestones to verify as the programme advances.
