Tankoa has launched the 52-metre full-custom motor yacht SPIRIT, designed by Vitruvius Yacht Design with bespoke interiors by FM Architettura.

SPIRIT launches as a 52-metre full-custom Tankoa

Tankoa has launched the 52-metre motor yacht SPIRIT, a fully custom project developed around an individual owner brief. The yacht was designed by Vitruvius Yacht Design under Philippe Briand and Veerle Battiau, with bespoke interiors by FM Architettura.

Tankoa describes the project as an expression of its boutique approach to construction, with the owner’s requirements shaping the yacht rather than being adapted to an existing production layout. The design focuses on privacy, wellbeing and a close connection with the sea.

Natural light and balanced volumes guide the design

Large glazed areas and carefully proportioned interior and exterior spaces are intended to bring natural light deep into the accommodation. The architecture avoids visual heaviness, using the relationship between enclosed and open areas to create a calmer onboard atmosphere.

FM Architettura’s interior uses refined materials and restrained detailing rather than overt decorative themes. Tankoa says the spaces were developed to feel harmonious and personal, with the yacht’s social and private areas given distinct identities.

Launch moves the yacht toward final commissioning

With SPIRIT now afloat, the project moves into the final stages of systems testing, trials and completion before owner handover. The launch adds another custom yacht to a Tankoa fleet that increasingly mixes established platform projects with highly individual commissions.

For the Genoa yard, SPIRIT also broadens the type of design collaborations represented in its fleet. Vitruvius and FM Architettura bring different specialist backgrounds to a project intended to remain focused on how the owner will actually live aboard.
