Tankoa has launched the 45-metre full-custom TX450 in Genoa, with hybrid propulsion and delivery approaching.

TX450 enters the final phase after launch in Genoa

Tankoa Yachts has launched the 45-metre full-custom TX450 in Genoa, moving the project into sea trials and final technical testing. The yacht was developed with an experienced Middle Eastern owner and Cassetta Yacht Designers, which handled both exterior and interior design.

Although evolved from Tankoa’s T450 platform, TX450 is a fully custom project. The yacht adds an extra deck, a broader beam and living spaces that extend across the upper deck, changing the proportions and accommodation from the original platform.

Owner brief adds wellness and flexible guest spaces

Accommodation is arranged for up to 10 guests in five staterooms. Tankoa has also incorporated a gym and spa area, an enclosed veranda on the bridge deck and a convertible lower-deck cabin to give the owner more flexibility between guest, wellness and service uses.

The broader upper-deck arrangement is intended to increase the sense of volume without moving the project into a much larger overall length. Tankoa says the result combines a relatively compact 45-metre footprint with the lifestyle features more often associated with larger custom yachts.

Hybrid system supports silent nights at anchor

TX450 uses a full-hybrid propulsion system with a quoted maximum speed of 15 knots at half load and a cruising speed of 14 knots. The electrical architecture allows zero-emission operation in selected modes and can support overnight stays at anchor in full-electric mode.

With launch complete, the yacht is now undergoing sea trials and commissioning ahead of handover. The project adds another individual owner-driven build to Tankoa’s growing custom fleet and demonstrates how the yard is adapting its existing platforms rather than treating them as fixed layouts.
