Winch Design has revealed Flowform, a 35-metre sailing yacht concept developed with Frers Design. The project is intended to combine serious sailing performance with the privacy and interior volume expected from a modern cruising superyacht.
Winch Design is responsible for the interiors while Frers Design developed the naval architecture. The concept takes its visual cues from light, water and air, using flowing forms rather than heavy architectural divisions.
Flowform is arranged for eight guests with five crew, giving the yacht a relatively generous service complement for its size. The interior is designed around comfortable family cruising without removing the practical requirements of a performance sailing platform.
The design team says the yacht should be equally comfortable on an extended private voyage or racing in established superyacht regattas. That dual role places weight, deck handling and sailing efficiency alongside the expectations of owners using the yacht primarily for leisure.
Flowform reflects continuing demand for sailing yachts that do not treat performance and luxury as separate categories. The concept aims to retain the responsiveness and engagement of sailing while providing spaces that can support longer periods aboard.
For Winch Design, the project also demonstrates how an interior studio can work around a performance-driven naval architecture rather than forcing the yacht toward motor-yacht conventions. The result is intended to feel calm and refined while remaining visibly connected to the yacht’s sailing purpose.
